The Toyota Highlander was redesigned for 2004. The most notable change was the addition of an optional third row seat, boosting the seating capacity from five to seven people. The engine got a power boost, and the suspension was retooled for a softer ride.
The 2004 Toyota Highlander is available in two trims, the Standard and the Limited. Both are available with 4WD and 2WD with a four-cylinder or V6 engine. The 2.4-liter inline-4 comes standard, with 160 horsepower. The 3.3-liter, 230 horsepower V6 is optional on the base Highlander and standard on the Limited. Fuel economy is about 20/24 mpg.
Drivers like the 2004 Toyota Highlander for its smooth ride, comfortable interior, and generous amount of cargo space. Many shorter drivers like that the Highlander is easy to get into and doesn’t feel overwhelmingly large to drive. Some drivers complain that the car is very noisy when the windows are down, and many find the styling to be quite bland. Owners also find the third seat to be too small for anyone but tiny children.

Purchased for economy in an SUV. Good steady economy. Very Good power in the 330hp V6. Performance in acceleration, braking and handling in a medium large SUV I believe is not comparied too. Extremely well built for a vehicle. Appearance is excellent inside and was as good as it got in 2004 on the Outside. It can be a good work vehicle, and fine Family car, good for taking long trips, it really is asolid and fun vehicle.

my brother owns this car and I've driven it a few times. He's had the car for a few years and has had absolutely no problems at all. It is a very dependable car. The nice thing about this car is it is a small SUV - not some boxy beast. That said it is pretty roomy inside and can handle a fair amount of stuff in the trunk area.

This is a low mileage Toyota Highlander that is part of one of the best generations. These are tanks that will last 3 or 4 hundred thousand miles! Frame was solid! V6 engine clean! Felt like I was driving a 4 runner. Highly recommend!
