How much does the 2014 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 6.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 619 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Acura MDX earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury, comfort, performance, spaciousness, smooth ride, and fuel economy. That lines up with the MDX’s role as a refined three-row luxury crossover that still aims to feel athletic and responsive. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a family-friendly SUV that does not feel dull behind the wheel.

33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable, with praise centered on comfort, performance, and fuel economy over the long haul. The expert review also describes the MDX as a polished, finely tuned SUV that feels well sorted in daily use, which supports the impression of a vehicle you can count on. Acura’s fuel-saving engine technology and the model’s refined driving character also suggest a well-engineered package.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary meaningfully from one listing to the next, so maintenance history and wear items matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Acura MDX?

At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident or repair history. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and whether the vehicle’s equipment still functions as expected. Because this is a luxury crossover with available technology and driver-assistance features, condition and completeness matter as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version is relatively light on technology beyond Bluetooth, music streaming, hands-free text messaging, a USB port, a reversing camera, and Jewel Eye LED headlights. The Technology Package adds keyless access, navigation, AcuraLink real-time traffic, a premium sound system, HD Radio, satellite radio, GPS-linked climate control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot information, and 19-inch wheels. The Technology and Entertainment Package adds a rear-seat DVD system with a 9-inch screen, wireless headphones, a remote control, and a power outlet. The Advance and Entertainment Package adds a 16.2-inch screen, premium perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming side mirrors, remote engine start, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking.
• Powertrain: A 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, and Variable Cylinder Management helps conserve fuel by running on fewer cylinders when cruising. A 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive are standard, while Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is optional. The setup is tuned for strong, refined acceleration and confident handling.
• Safety package: The Technology Package adds forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot information. The Advance and Entertainment Package adds adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking. Base trims miss those added driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets twin display screens, and the base version includes Bluetooth, music streaming, hands-free text messaging, a USB port, and a reversing camera. Higher trims add navigation, AcuraLink real-time traffic, a premium sound system, and a rear-seat entertainment system with a 9-inch screen; the top package replaces that with a 16.2-inch display.
• Fuel efficiency: The fully loaded test vehicle was rated at 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, for 21 mpg combined. The review also notes that the MDX is expected to hold its value over time.

Which 2014 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2014 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Technology Package, Technology and Entertainment Package, and Advance and Entertainment Package.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the right pick if you want the lowest entry point and can live without the extra convenience, audio, navigation, and driver-assistance equipment. It still gives you the core MDX experience, but it is the most stripped-down version.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the most important everyday upgrades: navigation, premium audio, keyless access, real-time traffic, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. If you want the strongest mix of features and price, start here.
• Technology and Entertainment Package: Choose this if you need rear-seat entertainment and more family-friendly convenience. It builds on the Technology Package with the DVD system, wireless headphones, and rear-seat power, making it a better fit for regular passenger duty.
• Advance and Entertainment Package: This is the most fully equipped version, adding ventilated front seats, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation braking, and the larger 16.2-inch screen. It suits you best if you want the most comfort and driver-assistance content available.

The safety-package trims add meaningful driver-assistance gear, but the base version is much lighter on those features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 619 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,038, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $12,127 sits slightly below last year's $13,034.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The fact that the model still has solid demand and a broad shopper base should help support future resale, especially for cleaner examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Acura MDX safe?

The 2014 Acura MDX earns Good ratings from IIHS in both the moderate overlap frontal-impact test and the side-impact test, and its front crash prevention rating is Advanced.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

The Technology Package adds forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot information, while the Advance and Entertainment Package adds adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and collision mitigation braking. Base trims do not get the fuller driver-assistance suite. The review also notes that lane departure warning can be overly sensitive and sometimes inaccurate, so that is worth testing during your drive.

Should I buy a 2014 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned model is described as a better SUV in almost every respect, with especially strong driving dynamics and a more refined overall package.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned MDX’s stronger performance, improved refinement, and broad appeal, the 2014 is the right year to target. If your priority is finding the lowest possible price, you can still shop carefully within this year’s inventory and focus on clean, well-maintained examples with the right package for your needs.
