overall

Summary
With 441 currently listed for sale and an average price of $11,233, 30.8% of 2015 Mazda MAZDA6s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 4.89 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 stands out by making a midsize family car feel genuinely desirable. It has a sleek, upscale look and is described as sharp-looking, well-equipped, and fun to drive, yet it does not command a premium price. That combination gives it a distinctive appeal for buyers who want something more engaging and more stylish than the typical practical sedan.
It is also presented as an affordable, fuel-efficient, and practical package, which broadens its appeal beyond style alone. Owner feedback reinforces those strengths, with praise for its stylish design, reliable performance, comfortable interior, fun driving experience, and good fuel economy. Some owners did note a desire for a better sound system and the absence of a CD player, so its appeal is strongest for shoppers who value design, driving enjoyment, and everyday efficiency over a more feature-heavy audio setup.

I bought my Mazda6 used with around 55k miles on it back in 2017 and it’s still going strong in 2024. I’ve place over 110k miles on it and never had any issues with it. Just keep up with the maintenance and this car will go the distance. I do have the sport version and that’s honestly the only “downside” of the vehicle. Simple system. Nothing fancy. If you’re looking for a first time car, this would be it and you could learn the maintenance fairly quickly. I paid 13k for it and it’s probably one the greatest financial decision I’ve made.

Is the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to reliable performance, and the expert review also says the car should prove to be more reliable than your average family sedan. That combination suggests you can count on it for daily use if you choose a well-kept example.
The expert review also frames it as a car that is not expected to cost very much to own and maintain, which supports the case for lower long-term ownership stress.
For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how each individual car was maintained and driven.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Mazda MAZDA6?
At 45.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition details that matter most in daily use: interior wear, electronics, braking feel, and evidence of uneven maintenance.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Sport models are the most basic, with cloth seats and a manual gearbox standard; Touring adds leatherette, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, rear air vents, keyless entry with push-button start, 19-inch wheels, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds leather seats, heated front seats, a power sunroof, bi-Xenon headlights with LED running lights, navigation, and a Bose sound system.
- Powertrain: Every Mazda6 uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and a higher compression ratio. The manual gearbox is standard on Sport and Touring, while the automatic is standard on Grand Touring; the Technology Package adds i-ELOOP, which is intended to improve fuel economy.
- Safety package: The car includes a reversing camera and Mobile 911 connectivity on all models except the Sport with a manual gearbox. Touring adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while Grand Touring adds Smart City Brake Support; a package on Touring can add Smart City Brake Support along with automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and navigation.
- Infotainment: The system includes voice-controlled MazdaConnect services, Bluetooth calling and music streaming, text-messaging support, Aha Radio, HD Radio, a USB port, Pandora, and Mobile 911. It can also be upgraded with navigation, and the available touchscreen display is 5.8 inches.
- Fuel efficiency: Models without i-ELOOP are rated at 26 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. With i-ELOOP, the estimate rises to 28 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

- Grand Touring: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale version, with leather seats, heated front seats, a sunroof, navigation, bi-Xenon headlights, and the Bose audio system. It also gets Smart City Brake Support standard.
