How much does the 2016 BMW 6 Series cost?

Prices have softened 4.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 201 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare across trims and body styles.

Is the 2016 BMW 6 Series a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 BMW 6 Series blends style, performance, and luxury in a low-slung grand touring package, and it was offered as a coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe. It also received a visual refresh and a tech update with a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen running iDrive 6.0, which helps it feel more modern than earlier versions. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a distinctive luxury car that emphasizes presence and driving enjoyment over everyday practicality. 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW 6 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 BMW 6 Series is described as comfortable, engaging to drive, and well-appointed, with available driver-assistance features that add to its appeal. At the same time, it is also described as expensive to maintain, so the ownership experience depends heavily on how well the car has been cared for. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is higher repair and upkeep exposure if maintenance history is incomplete or deferred.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW 6 Series?

At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your list, with extra attention to bodywork quality, panel alignment, electronics, and signs of deferred maintenance. Because this is a luxury grand tourer with higher ownership costs, condition matters more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW 6 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,094, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 6 Series's resale value?

The current average of $20,046 sits slightly below last year's $20,928.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. The 6 Series' distinctive styling and luxury positioning can help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with strong equipment and clean history. If you buy smart and maintain the car well, you improve your odds of preserving value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 6 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is the right pick if you want the updated look and tech of this generation, plus a strong mix of style, comfort, and performance. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing for a lower entry cost, but you should still prioritize condition, maintenance records, and accident history over small differences in asking price.
