Used 2017 Nissan Armada for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2017 Nissan Armada cost?

Prices have softened 14.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 625 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Armada a good car?

Generally — the 2017 Nissan Armada earns 4.4/5 from owners and 6.5/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, spacious interior, luxury features, and smooth ride. The Armada’s full-size, body-on-frame layout and car-like livability also make it appealing if you want traditional SUV capability with a more refined feel.

For shoppers who want a large family hauler with a premium atmosphere and strong utility, the Armada fits that use case well. 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Armada reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV with strong performance, a spacious cabin, and a comfortable ride that owners can count on. The expert evaluation also emphasizes its comfortable, well-insulated interior and its ability to cover miles with a refined road feel.

The ownership tradeoff is that you should still budget carefully for fuel and be prepared to inspect any used example closely, since long-term satisfaction does not eliminate wear-and-tear risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Armada?

At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, interior wear, and any signs of prior repair quality. Because this model can be expensive and fuel economy is a known drawback, it makes sense to be especially selective about overall condition and maintenance records.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SV trim includes a strong set of standard equipment, but it misses secondary safety features that appear higher up the range. The SL adds useful upgrades like a 360-degree camera, leather, 20-inch wheels, remote start, and driver memory, while the Platinum adds front-seat ventilation, a rear entertainment system, and more upscale interior touches.
• Powertrain: Every Armada uses a 5.6-liter V8 with a 7-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The setup delivers strong power and towing ability, but fuel economy is a weak point, especially with AWD.
• Safety package: The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward-collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear. Base trims do not get those secondary safety features, and lane-departure warning and intervention are reserved for the Platinum trim.
• Infotainment: You get an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, and an available 13-speaker Bose stereo, but the system lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interface is also criticized for awkward ergonomics and too many button presses.
• Fuel efficiency: The Armada is rated at 14 city and 19 highway mpg, with a 16 mpg combined rating. With AWD, those figures drop to 13 city and 18 highway mpg.

Which 2017 Nissan Armada trim should I buy?

The 2017 Nissan Armada is offered in 3 trim levels: SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• SV: This is the value-oriented starting point, and it already brings a lot of standard equipment, including an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, front and rear parking sensors, heated power seats, a rear-view camera, and a 13-speaker Bose stereo. It makes sense if you want the Armada’s core space and comfort without paying for the higher-end extras.
• SL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 360-degree camera, leather, 20-inch wheels, remote start, driver memory, and auto wipers. If you want the most balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-focused choice, adding front-seat ventilation, a rear entertainment system, unique 20-inch wheels, power-folding heated mirrors, lane-departure warning and intervention, and more upscale interior trim. It suits you best if you want the most premium Armada experience.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the base SV cannot access the secondary safety features, while lane-departure warning and avoidance are available only on the Platinum trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Armada?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 625 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,521, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Armada's resale value?

The current average of $14,521 sits slightly below last year's $16,915.

That decline suggests the Armada has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction and a premium-feeling cabin, well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Nissan Armada safe?

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The Armada comes standard with stability and traction control, full-length curtain airbags, and a rear-view camera, which gives you a solid baseline. The available Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring and warning, and forward-collision warning with avoidance braking front and rear, while lane-departure warning and intervention are reserved for the Platinum trim.

The main caveat is that the base SV trim cannot access any of the secondary safety features, so you need to move up the trim ladder if safety tech matters to you most.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Armada or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brought a new V8, a more refined interior, and a more car-like road feel.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,640, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $14,521 average.
• It adds extra technology to the standard features list.

The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2017 is the stronger value play. If you prefer a slightly newer model with more standard tech and can stretch your budget, the 2018 is the better alternative.
