Is the 2017 Porsche Macan a good car?

Yes — the 4.86/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, handling, and overall driving enjoyment, and they also highlight the luxurious feel and build quality. That fits the Macan’s role as a compact SUV for you if you want performance and everyday usability in the same package. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of attractive options to shop.

Is the 2017 Porsche Macan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the Macan’s build quality and the confidence it inspires over time. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how well a specific example has been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Porsche Macan?

At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on suspension, brakes, and any signs of uneven wear or repair work. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a premium SUV like this can be rewarding to own when the individual example has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Porsche Macan?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,147 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,683, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Porsche Macan's resale value?

The current average of $19,683 sits slightly below last year's $22,418.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently if you're planning to own the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, the softer current pricing means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because the Macan’s performance-focused reputation remains a key part of its appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche Macan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want the Macan’s core strengths — strong performance, premium feel, and high owner satisfaction — the 2017 is a compelling choice. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of price, condition, and history rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
