Is the 2018 Buick LaCrosse a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Buick LaCrosse earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a large, quiet sedan with a more modern shape and feature set, and it leans into a relaxed, upscale-feeling driving experience rather than a flashy performance focus. Is the 2018 Buick LaCrosse reliable?

The 2018 LaCrosse is presented as a comfortable, upscale sedan with a quiet ride and a well-equipped cabin, which supports its appeal as a daily driver. Its mix of a standard V6, available all-wheel drive, and comfort-focused features gives you a broad, mainstream ownership profile rather than a highly specialized one. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and has not accumulated hidden wear from age or prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Buick LaCrosse?

At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and electronics work as expected, since condition matters a lot on a used luxury-leaning sedan. If a car has been repaired after an incident, make sure the work was done cleanly and that the price reflects the history.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. The LaCrosse's appeal comes from its quiet ride, roomy cabin, and upscale feel, which can help it hold interest among shoppers looking for a comfortable sedan. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you improve your odds of getting a better return later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Buick LaCrosse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $15,278, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,805 average.
• It offers a redesigned, more premium image.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2018 is the stronger target because it combines a lower current price trend with strong owner satisfaction and a broad set of comfort-focused features. If you're especially price-sensitive, the 2017 is worth a look because it comes in cheaper and still delivers the LaCrosse's roomy, upscale character.
