Is the 2018 Subaru WRX STI a good car?

Generally — the 4.33/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 Subaru WRX STI reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes a reliable, enjoyable driving experience with strong performance that owners feel good about over time. That kind of satisfaction can matter for used buyers because it often reflects a car that continues to feel rewarding rather than tiring as the miles add up.

For long-term ownership, your biggest risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about how each individual example was treated before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru WRX STI?

At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and any signs of repeated damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the drivetrain, suspension, and any areas that could show hard use. Because this is a performance-focused car, condition matters more than mileage alone, so focus on maintenance records, signs of modification, and overall wear.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp depreciation swings.
