Used 2019 Buick Envision for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2019 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 6.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 647 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable ride, stylish and spacious interior, and luxury features that feel competitive with pricier brands. The Envision is aimed at younger luxury shoppers, and that identity comes through in its premium feel and quiet, smooth-driving character. Even so, the market context matters: Buick positions it as a compact luxury SUV, but the value equation is tighter than the appeal suggests.

The current mix of listings shows 35.2% priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a comfortable, dependable SUV that many drivers felt good about living with over time. The recurring themes are straightforward: comfort, luxury features, and a smooth ride. That combination suggests the Envision can be a trouble-free companion if you buy one that has been cared for properly.

The expert drive notes reinforce that impression with a quiet cabin and a composed, easygoing road feel that suits everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the concept and more about whether the specific vehicle was maintained well and equipped in a way that justifies its price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Buick Envision?

At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price is near the top of the range. Focus on condition, equipment, and whether the vehicle’s features match the asking price, since the Envision’s value depends heavily on trim and options. It’s also smart to compare accident history against mileage and service records so you can separate a clean, well-kept SUV from one that has simply been priced aggressively.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim comes with 18-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat, while the Preferred trim does not add much beyond making more option packages available. The Essence trim adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side-view mirrors. The Premium AWD is the best-value choice because it adds a Bose premium stereo, 19-inch aluminum wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an upgraded 8-inch semi-digital instrument panel, and the more powerful engine. The Premium II AWD adds heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, leather seating, and all-wheel drive.
• Powertrain: The FWD, Preferred, and Essence trims use a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 197 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic, and that setup feels underpowered and sluggish in many situations. The Premium and Premium II trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic, and it delivers solid acceleration with standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes ten airbags, a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist, and GM’s Safety Alert Seat on the Premium and Premium II trims. Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The Driver Confidence Package is available only on the Premium II trim and adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.
• Infotainment: The Envision uses an 8-inch touchscreen with GM’s Intellilink system, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging is also available on the test vehicle, though the setup uses a phone pocket rather than a flat pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter FWD setup returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The turbo AWD test model is rated at 20/25/22.

Which 2019 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2019 Buick Envision is offered in 5 trim levels: the base—or Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD)—Envision, Preferred, Essence, Premium All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Premium II AWD.

Here's the short version:

• Envision: This is the least expensive way into the model, and it includes 18-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front seats, and an 8-way power driver’s seat. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price, but it is also the trim most likely to leave you wanting more power and more premium equipment.
• Preferred: This trim does not add much equipment, but it opens the door to more option packages. It is mainly for you if you want a lower-priced Envision and plan to build up features carefully.
• Essence: This is the step up if you want more comfort and convenience, including a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, select driver-assistance features, and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side-view mirrors. It is a better fit if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Premium AWD: This is the best-value trim. It adds the stronger turbocharged engine, AWD, a Bose premium stereo, 19-inch aluminum wheels, bi-LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and an upgraded instrument panel, making it the most balanced choice for most shoppers.
• Premium II AWD: This is the most fully equipped version, with heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, navigation, leather seating, and AWD. Choose it if you want the most luxury content and are willing to pay for it.

Safety equipment is strongest on the Premium and Premium II trims, and the Driver Confidence Package is available only on Premium II.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Buick Envision?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 647 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,191, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $17,213 sits slightly below last year's $18,316.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the Envision easier to purchase now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to resell later. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: a well-kept example with desirable equipment should hold up better than one that is lightly equipped or has a rough history. The strongest resale prospects will usually come from trims that feel genuinely premium and are backed by good condition and service records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Buick Envision safe?

The 2019 Buick Envision earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes ten airbags and a reversing camera with Rear Park Assist. GM’s Safety Alert Seat is standard on the Premium and Premium II trims, and Essence and Premium trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The Premium trim also adds lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and forward-collision alert, while the Driver Confidence Package on Premium II adds adaptive cruise control, automatic front braking, and a 360-degree camera.

The main caveat is that many of the more advanced driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup, so you need to shop carefully if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2019 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert verdict says the Envision can be compelling with the right options, but the price to get there is too high to make sense.

The bottom line: If you want a compact luxury SUV with a comfortable ride, upscale feel, and strong owner satisfaction, the 2019 Envision is worth considering. If you are price-sensitive, you should be especially selective and focus on the better-equipped trims, because the value story improves only when the equipment level justifies the asking price.
