About 2019 INFINITI Q70
In an effort to revamp its naming convention, the midsize INFINITI M became the Q70 in 2014. It received a facelift in 2015, but it has undergone few changes since. For 2019, this trend continues, and there are no major changes to the Q70. The Q70’s organic, nature-inspired shapes continue to stand out from anything else in the midsize luxury sport sedan segment. Although some interior interfaces are dated, there’s a resounding level of quality that buyers won’t find in lesser cars. INFINITI offers the Q70 in one trim, called LUXE. For 2019, the Essential package offered in earlier years has been rolled into LUXE as standard equipment. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, leather-appointed seats, heated and cooled front seats, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other standard features include LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless start and access, SiriusXM Radio, a sunroof, and a 10-speaker BOSE audio system. The optional Sport Package adds 20-inch wheels, a unique front fascia, a sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, sport seats, paddle shifters, a 16-speaker BOSE audio system, and a power rear sunshade. The Premium Select Edition package gets distinctive 20-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, sport brakes, illuminated kick plates, and semi-aniline leather upholstery with contrast stitching, in either Graphite or Stone hues. The base setup for the Q70 is a 3.7-liter 6-cylinder with 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is capable of as many as 18 mpg city, 25 highway, and 21 combined on premium fuel. Beyond that, Infiniti offers a 5.6-liter 8-cylinder engine making 420 hp and 417 lb-ft paired with the same 7-speed automatic. It delivers fuel economy ratings of 16, 24, and 21, on premium fuel. Both powertrains come standard with rear-wheel drive (RWD), but all-wheel drive (AWD) is an available extra-cost option. Despite its age, Infiniti has kept the Q70 current on its safety technology, so there’s a full array of standard and optional features. Newly standard for 2019 is a surround-view camera system with moving detection and front and rear sonar sensors. Those who opt for the Proactive Package gain forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with full-speed range, blind-spot warning with intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, backup collision intervention, and lane-keep assist. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) last tested the Q70 in 2018, where it scored top marks in all crash categories and scored a superior rating for crash avoidance with the optional equipment. With style, luxury, and technology in spaces, the Q70 is quite the midsize sport sedan.
