What should I look for when buying a used 2019 INFINITI QX50?

At 71.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re looking at.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pure trim gives you LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The Luxe adds LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and blind-spot monitoring, while the Essential brings navigation, 3-zone climate control, auto wipers, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, heated side mirrors, and leather seats. The Essential is the best-value trim if you want the most complete equipment set.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, plus a continuously variable transmission. The engine is designed to vary compression between 8:1 and 14:1 for power and efficiency, and the setup is tuned more for comfort than sportiness.
• Safety package: The ProActive package adds intelligent cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning and intervention, and ProPilot assist. It is limited to the top-tier Essential trim, and blind-spot monitoring is not available on the Pure.
• Infotainment: The base QX50 comes well equipped with technology, and the top trim adds navigation. The infotainment system is described as frustrating, so you should test it carefully during your drive.
• Fuel efficiency: The QX50 is rated at 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, with a combined rating of 27 mpg. Adding all-wheel drive reduces efficiency by 1 mpg.

Which 2019 INFINITI QX50 trim should I buy?

The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is offered in 3 trim levels: Pure, Luxe, Essential.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the entry point, and it already gives you a strong equipment list with LED headlights, a hands-free liftgate, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the more advanced convenience and safety features.
• Luxe: This trim adds LED fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and blind-spot monitoring. It’s the trim that most clearly improves everyday livability, and it’s the one to target if you want the best balance of features and value.
• Essential: This is the most fully equipped version, with navigation, 3-zone climate control, auto wipers, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, heated side mirrors, and leather seats. If you want the most complete luxury experience, this is the trim to buy.

The safety-tech package is limited to the Essential trim, and blind-spot monitoring is not available on the Pure.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 INFINITI QX50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,359, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 INFINITI QX50's resale value?

The current average of $16,362 sits slightly below last year's $18,610.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you’re starting from a lower cost basis than a shopper who bought when values were higher.

For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year has already absorbed a meaningful price drop, so resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, but you should expect the market to reward clean history and strong equipment more than age alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 INFINITI QX50 safe?

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The QX50’s safety tech is a mixed bag because the most advanced driver-assistance features are not available on every trim. The ProActive package adds intelligent cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning and intervention, and ProPilot assist, but you need the top-tier Essential trim to get it. Blind-spot monitoring is also not available on the Pure.

The expert review also notes that the safety technology should have been offered more broadly across the lineup. For used buyers, that means you should verify exactly which safety features are installed on the specific vehicle you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2019 INFINITI QX50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out as a redesigned second-generation model with more room, a new variable-compression engine, and a more modern interior.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned QX50 with the newer cabin and updated powertrain, the 2019 is the right year to target. If you’re shopping mainly on price, you can use the softened market to your advantage and focus on clean, well-equipped examples; if you want the most advanced safety tech, make sure you’re looking at the right trim and package combination before you commit.
