CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Kia Stinger

Summary
With 421 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,010, 30.6% of 2019 Kia Stinger listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Kia Stinger 4.64 / 5 stars.
56.3% of 2019 Kia Stinger listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Kia Stinger stands out as a sporty, premium-leaning liftback that helped Kia move beyond its budget-car image. It was designed to take on German performance cars, and its rear-wheel-drive chassis, turbocharged powertrains, and upscale features gave it the look and feel of a convincing sports sedan. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want something distinctive and fun to drive without stepping into a pricier luxury badge.
For 2019, the Stinger offered a 255-horsepower 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder or a 365-hp 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive was standard, while all-wheel drive was optional with either engine. Standard equipment included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, leather seats, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and a 7-inch infotainment screen. Available features such as LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, an 8-inch infotainment screen, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a power-operated sunroof, a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and high-beam assist added to its appeal, while the GT models with the V6 came standard with Brembo brakes.
The 2019 model also had some clear drawbacks. Advanced driver-assistance features did not come standard, so buyers had to look for the driver-assist package to get items such as forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. Owner feedback also points to a cramped interior and frustration with the lack of a trunk release button, even as many drivers praise the Stinger’s performance, styling, value, and sound system quality.

The Stinger is well maintained, the miles are low for the year and all equipment works without issue.

When comparing to the S5 and A7 the stinger has more HP, better standard features and more options for the value. Picked mine up a week ago and really enjoy driving the car. Highly recommend.

Bought a lightly used Stinger GT 2, and absolutely love it. It’s quicker than it looks, drives and rides fantastic when you baby it—and absolutely kills it when driven hard. The twin turbo V6 with the 8 speed auto is incredibly quick, and a blast.

The car is very impressive. The Charcoal metal flake paint is beautiful in the sun. The car just looks sexy. The interior is excellent and the features are wonderful. Driving experience is a blast. Some said oh you will feel left wanting for the 6 cylinder. Actually the 4 with the turbo is very snappy and get up and goes. If I wanted a drag race car it would be a something different. The Premium has all the bells and whistles and is a complete head turner. The first time driving with the auto shut off caught me off guard. Found the button so no more of that LOL. Buy with confidence in getting a really good car. Third Kia I ahve owned and I love it.

Is the 2019 Kia Stinger a good car?
Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the powerful performance, stylish design, value for money, advanced technology features, and sound system quality. That makes it a compelling choice if you want a sporty, premium-leaning liftback with a distinctive personality and a fun driving experience. With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.
Is the 2019 Kia Stinger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback points to a car that owners enjoy living with over time, especially for its performance, value, and technology. The recurring praise for its driving experience and sound system suggests a model that can feel rewarding well beyond the first few months of ownership. For used buyers, that generally lowers long-term ownership risk, though you should still verify maintenance history and condition carefully.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Kia Stinger?
At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint consistency, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could hint at past collision work. You should also focus on overall condition and equipment operation, since the Stinger’s appeal depends heavily on how well it presents and performs.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Stinger?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 420 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 56.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,532, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Kia Stinger's resale value?
The current average of $21,028 sits slightly below last year's $22,422.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter a lot because buyers will compare your car against a fairly broad set of listings. Strong equipment, clean history, and careful upkeep can help you stand out when it is time to resell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $19,860, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $21,028 average.
- It offers a distinctive debut-year performance-luxury identity.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2019 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2018 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the Stinger’s core appeal.
