CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Kia Stinger

Summary
With 393 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,036, 28.8% of 2019 Kia Stingers for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Kia Stinger 4.64 / 5 stars.
59.3% of 2019 Stinger models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Kia Stinger stands out as a sporty, premium-leaning liftback that helped Kia move beyond its budget-car image. It was designed to take on German performance cars, and its rear-wheel-drive performance and upscale features gave it the look and feel of a convincing sports sedan. That combination of style, driving appeal, and value is a big part of why the Stinger drew attention even though it was never a big seller.
For 2019, the Stinger offered turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 powertrains, with rear-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive optional with either engine. It also came with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather seats, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and a 7-inch infotainment screen. Buyers could also find available features such as LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, an 8-inch infotainment screen, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a power-operated sunroof, a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and high-beam assist.
The 2019 model also has some clear tradeoffs. Advanced driver-assistance features did not always come standard, so shoppers often had to look for the driver-assist package to get features such as forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert. Owners also commonly praise the Stinger’s performance, styling, technology, and sound system quality, while noting that interior space is tight and that the lack of a trunk release button can be annoying.

The Stinger is well maintained, the miles are low for the year and all equipment works without issue.

When comparing to the S5 and A7 the stinger has more HP, better standard features and more options for the value. Picked mine up a week ago and really enjoy driving the car. Highly recommend.

Bought a lightly used Stinger GT 2, and absolutely love it. It’s quicker than it looks, drives and rides fantastic when you baby it—and absolutely kills it when driven hard. The twin turbo V6 with the 8 speed auto is incredibly quick, and a blast.

The car is very impressive. The Charcoal metal flake paint is beautiful in the sun. The car just looks sexy. The interior is excellent and the features are wonderful. Driving experience is a blast. Some said oh you will feel left wanting for the 6 cylinder. Actually the 4 with the turbo is very snappy and get up and goes. If I wanted a drag race car it would be a something different. The Premium has all the bells and whistles and is a complete head turner. The first time driving with the auto shut off caught me off guard. Found the button so no more of that LOL. Buy with confidence in getting a really good car. Third Kia I ahve owned and I love it.

Is the 2019 Kia Stinger a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Kia Stinger earns a 4.64/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, stylish design, and value for money. They also highlight the driving experience and the sound system quality, which helps reinforce its appeal as a sporty, premium-leaning liftback. For you, that means this model makes the most sense if you want something more engaging than a typical midsize sedan and still want practical five-door usability.
With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.
Is the 2019 Kia Stinger reliable?
Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car in positive terms tied to performance and overall value. That kind of response suggests the model has earned trust from people living with it day to day, not just from shoppers comparing specs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about broad satisfaction and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained carefully.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Kia Stinger?
At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on body panels, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that can hint at past repairs. You should also focus on overall condition inside and out, since the best used example will be the one that shows consistent care rather than just a low asking price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Stinger?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 397 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.99% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.2% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2019 Kia Stinger's resale value?
The current average of $21,014 sits slightly below last year's $22,353.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay realistic on asking price. If you buy well now and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your position when it comes time to sell. Models with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to draw steadier interest in the used market.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.99% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $20,176, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $21,014 average.
- It introduced Kia’s upscale performance push and established the Stinger’s distinctive identity.
The bottom line: You should start with the 2019 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and deal availability. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2018 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition and can live with its older-model-year tradeoffs.
