Why it stands out
The 2019 Volkswagen Golf R is renowned for its combination of performance, practicality, and premium quality, making it a preferred choice for enthusiasts. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 292 horsepower, it offers impressive power alongside Volkswagen's signature 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, ensuring excellent traction and handling in various conditions. The Golf R also stands out with its upscale interior, featuring a range of luxury amenities such as LED headlights, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a navigation system. Owners praise its dynamic driving experience and compact size, which makes it easy to navigate urban environments. However, some drivers have noted the absence of a sunroof compared to European models as a drawback. Overall, the Golf R strikes a balance between being a fun-to-drive hot hatch and a comfortable, well-equipped daily driver.

Luxurious interior. Sleek exterior. A VW frame with a Porsche engine. VW’s mk 7.5 is what many refer to as the top tier golf. Its mature appearance coupled with electronic driving modes can take this car from dads commuter to his weekend car at the track. That’s the main draw in this ‘19 R. It can be dressed up or dressed down, as I’ve gotten older I’ve stopped buying WRXs because the golf R quality, and look, align with the sticker price.
