The Audi TT sports coupe made big waves when it debuted. It slides into 2020 with no major changes.

Audi offers the TT in hardtop Coupe and Roadster body styles. The Coupe has a 2+2 seating configuration: it includes two full-size front seats and a pair of small, occasional-use rear seats. The Roadster comes with a folding soft top and is exclusively a two-seater.

Whichever body style you choose, you’ll get Audi’s 45 TFSI engine, which is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder that makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). Both body styles can hit a top speed of 130 mph. The TT even delivers a respectable 23 mpg city, 31 highway, and 26 combined with regular fuel.

Audi offers the TT in a single trim that includes LED exterior lights, 18-inch wheels, an adaptive rear spoiler, power-folding exterior mirrors, heated washer nozzles, an LCD instrument cluster, keyless access and start, leather and Alcantara upholstery, 12-way power front seats, heated front seats, ambient interior lighting, and an advanced infotainment system with handwriting recognition. From there, the S Sport Seat package adds full leather upholstery, upgraded seats with diamond stitching, and leather covering the center armrests and console. The Technology Package bundles navigation, telematics, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system. Premium wheels are a standalone option.

As far as safety, the TT keeps it light. Standard equipment includes a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, and front and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring comes with the Technology Package. Like most cars of its class, the TT hasn’t been crash-tested by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The Audi TT continues to delight with the same performance and style combination it presented twenty years ago. The TT Roadster competes with the likes of the BMW Z4.
