The Bentley Bentayga, introduced in 2016, was the first super-luxury performance SUV on the market, offering jaw-dropping power and infinite customization options. This year, Bentley introduces the Bentayga Speed, the fastest production SUV in the world. The Bentayga competes primarily with the Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The Bentayga is as athletic and graceful as any Bentley luxury car, with signature round headlights, a distinctive grille, and eye-catching wheel designs. The Bentayga Speed adds tinted headlights, contrasting bumper grilles, body-colored side skirts, a tailgate spoiler, exclusive 22-inch wheels, and Speed emblems. Two powertrains are available in the Bentayga, both with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD). The first is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine rated for 542 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. The second is a turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine that makes 600 hp and 663 lb-ft or, if you go for the new Bentayga Speed, delivers 626 hp and 664 lb-ft. The V8 engine is the most efficient option, rated for 14 mpg city, 23 highway, and 17 combined. Inside, the Bentayga provides ultimate luxury for all five passengers. Buyers can choose from two-tone hand-crafted leather upholstery, a wood-and-leather steering wheel, and a menu of available trims that includes wood, metal, gloss carbon fiber, and matte carbon fiber. The Bentayga Speed gets diamond-quilted seats with contrast stitching, Alcantara trim, illuminated treadplates, and Speed badging. Exclusive upgrade options include mood lighting and 22-way power front seats with massage. Every Bentayga features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display that responds to gesture control. Standard features include Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and navigation. A 12- or 18-speaker Naim premium audio system is available, and the Bentayga Speed offers a rear-row entertainment system. Standard safety features include a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, rear-cross traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, and parking sensors. Available features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display (HUD). The Bentayga hasn’t been crash-tested, which is typical for a vehicle in this category. The 2020 Bentayga further establishes this Bentley as the dominant force in the ultra-luxury SUV category. The Bentayga Speed joins the 2020 Bentayga lineup in late 2019.
