Used 2020 Dodge Charger for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2020 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices have softened 4.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,417 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Charger earns a 4.93/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, eye-catching design, smooth ride and handling, and spacious comfort for families. The Charger’s broad powertrain range and usable cabin make it appealing if you want a sedan that feels special without giving up everyday practicality.

The main trade-offs are that lower trims can feel underwhelming compared with the stronger versions, and some buyers wish for more luxury features. That lines up with the Charger’s role as a performance-first sedan with four full doors and five-passenger seating, rather than a luxury car.

With 26.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.93/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car you can count on for strong performance, comfort, and everyday usability. The expert evaluation reinforces that dependable, practical side by emphasizing the Charger’s spacious cabin, large rear seats, and large trunk, along with its broad range of powertrains.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-performance versions can be more demanding to live with, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Charger?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-performance trim or a car with visible wear. Focus on body condition, tire wear, brake condition, and signs of hard use, since the Charger’s performance image can attract enthusiastic driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, remote start, push-button start, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The GT adds 20-inch wheels, a more pronounced lower front spoiler, rear trunk lip spoiler, a hood scoop, dual-zone climate control, a WiFi hot spot, HD radio, and an 8.4-inch screen. The Hellcat adds leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, blind-spot monitoring, and the widebody kit. If you want the best value, the GT is the sweet spot because it adds meaningful equipment without jumping to V8 pricing.
• Powertrain: The SXT and GT use a 3.6-liter V6 with 292 horsepower in the SXT and 300 horsepower in the GT. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque, while the R/T Scat Pack uses a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. The Hellcat uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. AWD is available on the SXT and GT.
• Safety package: Standard safety features include a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. These features are not standard across the lineup, so check carefully by trim.
• Infotainment: The SXT uses a 7-inch touchscreen, while all other trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The system includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Wireless smartphone integration and over-the-air updates are not mentioned here.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 19 mpg city, 30 highway, 23 combined. Adding AWD brings that to 18 mpg city, 27 highway, 21 combined. The R/T returns 16 mpg city, 25 highway, 19 combined, and the Hellcat Widebody returns 12 mpg city, 21 highway, 15 combined.

Which 2020 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Charger is offered in 4 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, and Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core formula with a 7-inch touchscreen, rear parking sensors, remote start, push-button start, and power-adjustable front seats. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup and are comfortable with the simpler equipment set.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds 20-inch wheels, a more aggressive exterior look, dual-zone climate control, a WiFi hot spot, HD radio, and the larger 8.4-inch screen. It also gets the stronger V6 and can be paired with AWD, so it’s the trim to target if you want a more complete daily driver without stepping into V8 territory.
• R/T: This trim brings the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, upgraded performance suspension, and active exhaust, so it is the right choice if you want a clear jump in character and sound. It suits you best if performance matters more than fuel economy.
• Hellcat: This is the top-end choice, with the largest engine in the lineup, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, blind-spot monitoring, and the widebody kit. It is for you if you want maximum performance and the most aggressive equipment.

Advanced safety features are available, but many are not standard, so verify the exact equipment on any used example you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Charger?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile deals.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,417 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,698, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $23,220 sits slightly below last year's $24,352.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The Charger’s broad appeal helps support demand, especially because it combines performance, space, and distinctive styling in a way few sedans do. Strong owner satisfaction also helps keep interest alive when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.93/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger’s crash-prevention technology earned the highest score of Superior from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The key caveat is that many of those advanced safety features are optional rather than standard, so you should verify equipment carefully on any used Charger you consider.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.93/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model combines broad powertrain choice with a spacious cabin and available AWD.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,538, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $23,220 average.
• It adds a new track-ready variant that pushes the Hellcat V8 further.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it delivers the Charger’s core strengths at a lower average price. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and a more extreme performance option, the 2021 is the path to consider.
