Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLS a good car?

The available market data points to a moderate buying environment, with pricing that has moved lower and a meaningful share of listings still showing up as good or great deals. That combination can work in your favor if you are patient and compare condition carefully.

32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a solid starting point for negotiation and shopping flexibility.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLS?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint consistency, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since condition differences can matter a lot in a luxury car like this. Focus on the specific car in front of you rather than the average listing, because the market includes both cleaner examples and vehicles with past incidents.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLS?

This looks like a selective buyer’s market, where you can find value if you compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 230 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,134, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLS's resale value?

The current average of $33,134 sits slightly below last year's $37,824.

That lower price level can help you buy more cautiously now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you preserve the car’s condition. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain clean history records, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell. A well-kept example will likely stand out more because the market already shows a spread between cleaner listings and those with prior incidents.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.40% compared with last year.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $30,187, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $33,134 average.
• It emphasizes striking styling and premium comfort.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price and availability, the 2020 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2019 is the more price-sensitive alternative and may be worth a closer look.
