About 2020 Subaru BRZ
Overview

The BRZ, introduced in 2013, is an oddball in Subaru’s lineup. The coupe features rear-wheel drive (RWD) instead of Subaru’s renowned all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, though this setup is key to the BRZ’s claim as an entry-level sports car with excellent handling. For 2020, the limited-edition BRZ tS returns. Competitors include the Volkswagen GTI, Hyundai Veloster, and Toyota 86, which was developed alongside the BRZ.
The BRZ’s exterior design is simple and serves up functionality to back its sporty looks. For a fresh take, consider the BRZ tS edition, which gets a new Ceramic White finish accented with 18-inch matte-bronze wheels and a kiss of Cherry Blossom Red trim around the front grille and rear bumper.
The BRZ’s powertrain, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine, carries over unchanged. A 6-speed manual transmission comes standard. In this configuration, the BRZ is rated for 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque. With the optional 6-speed automatic in place, specs drop to 200 hp and 151 lb-ft. The best fuel-economy ratings are achieved with the automatic transmission: 24 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 27 combined. The BRZ tS includes an STI-tuned suspension, a stiffened chassis, Brembo 4-piston caliper front brakes, and dual-piston caliper rear brakes.
Though the BRZ technically seats four passengers, the second row is a tight squeeze. The rest of the cabin is similarly traditional for a sports coupe, with easy-to-reach controls and functions. Black upholstery with red stitching and logo embroidery comes standard, along with heated front seats, keyless entry, and push-button start. The Limited trim adds Alcantara inserts and leather bolsters to the seats, while the tS trim adds more red accent stitching, red leather bolsters on the front seats, red front seat belts, and a cast black finish center console.
As for technology, a 7-inch touchscreen display comes standard, along with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, voice control, navigation, and over-the-air updates.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awards the BRZ the top score of Good in four crash tests, with an Acceptable score in the tricky small front overlap test. As for safety features, you’ll only get a reversing camera.
The 2020 Subaru BRZ is an affordable, fun-to-drive car.

Very low ride, strong connection to the road, super-responsive steering, and a gorgeous exterior: a perfect package for fun-filled driving.

Beautiful Ride, turning radius, though good, could be a bit better, acceleration wonderful, didn t find the torque dip between 3k-4k, corners flat, fun time. Nav screen could be bigger. Missing cover for console, seems like engineers could have done what Lexus did -- sliding and open door.
