How much does the 2021 BMW X5 M cost?

There are 141 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 BMW X5 M a good car?

The 2021 BMW X5 M is a strong fit if you want a high-performance luxury SUV with a roomy cabin, modern infotainment, and everyday usability alongside serious speed. The model’s broader fourth-generation X5 platform brought more interior room and dual 12.3-inch digital displays, while the X5 M itself is aimed squarely at buyers who want sharper handling and far more urgency than a typical SUV. With a user rating of 2.5/5, it may appeal more to performance-focused shoppers than to buyers prioritizing broad comfort or value. The market currently shows 39.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 BMW X5 M reliable?

The 2021 BMW X5 M is positioned as a high-performance version of BMW’s midsize luxury SUV, and it comes with the kind of serious speed and chassis tuning that make it stand out in the lineup. It also sits within the fourth-generation X5 family, which brought a redesigned body, more interior room, and updated tech, including Android Auto support for 2021. Because this is a V8-powered performance SUV, long-term ownership risk is higher than with a more conventional luxury crossover, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW X5 M?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the vehicle’s overall condition, especially because this is a high-performance SUV with expensive ownership stakes. Check the history report carefully, then pay close attention to signs of hard use, maintenance consistency, and any wear that could be amplified by performance driving. If possible, compare several listings so you can weigh condition against price rather than rushing into the first attractive example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW X5 M?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective if you’re patient and willing to compare listings.

• Deal availability: 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $56,589, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW X5 M's resale value?

The current average of $57,106 sits slightly below last year's $64,680.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may pressure resale expectations if you plan to sell later. The year-over-year drop also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if similar listings remain available. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can still protect more of its value than a neglected example would.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW X5 M or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 39.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.71% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2021 BMW X5 M makes the most sense if you want the X5 formula with maximum performance and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition and price. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a similar ownership experience with a different market position, but the 2021 is the better target when you want a strong mix of performance, inventory, and softened pricing.
