Used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB cost?

Prices have softened 12.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 906 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

You get a flexible interior layout with an optional third row, so this compact crossover can seat up to seven people instead of five. It also brings an approachable starting price, attractive styling, and impressive technology, which makes it a strong fit if you want a premium SUV that still feels practical for everyday use.

The main trade-offs are the cramped third row and the irritating transmission, and the seats are also a weak point. Even so, the GLB’s combination of space, tech, and value makes it appealing if you want Mercedes-Benz utility without moving up to a larger SUV.

Good and great deals account for 34.5% of listings, which suggests there are still some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLB’s appeal comes from its practical layout, premium fit and finish, and everyday usability. It also has a capable, predictable powertrain and a well-rounded feature set that supports confident ownership.

Its performance is described as decent, with power delivered in a linear, predictable fashion, and the available all-wheel-drive setup is said to improve handling and feel more planted. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a well-equipped GLB in the mid-$40,000s if you choose options carefully.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that comfort and drivability issues can matter more over time than the GLB’s strong feature content.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a thorough inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, cabin wear, and whether the vehicle feels as refined in person as it does on paper.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLB is positioned as an attractive, taut SUV with Mercedes-Benz levels of fit and finish, but the base setup is still the entry point for the lineup. If you want more upscale cabin presentation and convenience features, you’ll want to compare equipment carefully against higher-spec versions.
• Powertrain: The GLB uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine with 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and 4MATIC all-wheel drive is optional.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes active brake assist, adaptive braking technology with hill-start assist and brake hold, crosswind assist, attention assist, and Mercedes-Benz emergency call service. The Driver Assistance Package adds Distronic adaptive cruise control with route-based speed adaptation, active steering assist with emergency stop assist and active lane change assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic function, active speed limit assist, active blind-spot assist, active lane-keeping assist, and Pre-Safe Plus with Pre-Safe Sound.
• Infotainment: Standard tech includes the MBUX infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, keyless start, cruise control, and a power liftgate. The Premium Package upsizes the displays to 10.25 inches each.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway/26 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway/26 mpg combined with all-wheel drive.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in 2 trim levels: GLB 250 and AMG GLB 35 SUV.

Here's the short version:

• GLB 250: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it delivers the GLB’s core strengths: flexible seating, strong technology, and a premium cabin without pushing the price into performance-model territory. It’s the best-value choice if you want the GLB’s practicality and upscale feel.
• AMG GLB 35 SUV: This is the enthusiast-oriented choice, with a much higher starting price and a quicker 0-60 mph time. Choose it only if you want the performance-focused version and are willing to trade away some value for speed.

The Driver Assistance Package is the key safety-package upgrade to consider if you want the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 906 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,951, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB's resale value?

The current average of $22,951 sits slightly below last year's $26,244.

That price movement suggests the GLB has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. A lower current entry price can also make the vehicle easier to move later if you keep mileage and condition in check.

Because the GLB combines premium branding with strong practicality, it should continue to appeal to shoppers looking for a versatile luxury SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB has not yet been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes active brake assist, adaptive braking technology with hill-start assist and brake hold, crosswind assist, attention assist, and Mercedes-Benz emergency call service. Available features include active LED headlamps, adaptive high-beam assist, and blind-spot assist.

If you want the most advanced setup, the Driver Assistance Package adds Distronic adaptive cruise control with route-based speed adaptation, active steering assist with emergency stop assist and active lane change assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic function, active speed limit assist, active blind-spot assist, active lane-keeping assist, and Pre-Safe Plus with Pre-Safe Sound.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLB or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds an optional third row and a flexible, premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,364, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $22,951 average.
• It emphasizes utility, practicality, and thoughtful details.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,429, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,951 average.
• It keeps the seven-seat practicality while leaning harder into utility and compact-SUV versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, flexibility, and premium features, the 2021 is the strongest all-around pick. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2020 is the better value play, while the 2022 makes sense only if you’re willing to pay more for the newer-year alternative.
