Is the 2022 Cadillac XT6 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The XT6 is a midsize, three-row crossover that fits between the XT5 and the Escalade, so it makes the most sense if you want a luxury SUV with a comfortable ride and family-friendly space. The expert review also points to impressive technology and great safety ratings, but it notes that the styling is uninspired, performance is fairly pedestrian, and the third row is cramped.

The model’s 36.1% good and great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings to consider.

Is the 2022 Cadillac XT6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The XT6 is presented as a polished midsize luxury SUV with a comfortable ride and a strong safety profile, which supports confidence for everyday use. Its expert review also emphasizes that the vehicle is better executed than the comparison it invokes, even if it still feels like a stop-gap product in Cadillac’s lineup.

The performance notes describe the XT6 as sufficiently powerful and isolated from unwanted noise, with a powertrain that feels composed rather than strained. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames it as a vehicle that can serve buyers who want seven-passenger seating and cargo space without moving up to the Escalade.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its appeal depends more on comfort and utility than on standout driving excitement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac XT6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing includes advanced driver-assistance equipment or higher-end options. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the technology and safety systems operate as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XT6 is offered in Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. The base trim is the least richly equipped, while the higher trims add more upscale presentation and features.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 235 horsepower, while Premium Luxury and Sport use a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 hp. The V6 is described as sufficiently powerful, while the four-cylinder is called meager.
• Safety package: The available Super Cruise system is the headline driver-assistance feature, and the standard safety list includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control and semi-autonomous park assist are available, and some features are tied to the optional Platinum Package.
• Infotainment: The XT6 uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected services, WiFi hotspot access, and available embedded navigation. It also offers voice recognition and an available digital rearview mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 with AWD is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2022 Cadillac XT6 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the XT6 experience at the lowest price. It is the trim to consider if you want the model’s three-row layout and core luxury-SUV mission without paying for the more elaborate equipment found higher up.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the XT6’s more convincing upscale feel. The review vehicle was a Premium Luxury, and the content highlights its richer materials, available 3.6-liter V6, and strong ride quality.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the sport-oriented trim character and the available Brembo brake hardware mentioned in the review. It is the trim most closely tied to the XT6’s more dynamic setup.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.53% compared with last year.

That drop suggests the XT6 has already moved down from its earlier pricing level, which can help you as a buyer but may pressure future resale if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the amount of depreciation left to absorb.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac XT6 or consider a different year?
