How much does the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 5.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,197 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its all-wheel-drive capability, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features. The model’s practical size and everyday usability also fit well if you want a compact crossover that is easy to live with while still feeling ready for rough weather and light off-pavement use.

With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability, with the Crosstrek favored for being dependable and trouble-free. The overview notes that later second-generation versions had already addressed many earlier technology complaints, which supports the case for a more settled ownership experience.

For used buyers, that usually means lower long-term ownership risk if you choose a well-kept example and verify its maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a history report and confirm there are no hidden accident or title issues. A pre-purchase inspection is worth it, especially if you want to check for wear items, suspension condition, and any signs of hard use.

Focus on overall condition as much as mileage, since a clean, well-maintained Crosstrek is more likely to deliver the dependable ownership experience shoppers expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,197 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,987, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $22,390 sits slightly below last year's $23,750.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests resale values have eased compared with a year ago. If you plan to sell later, a model that enters your ownership at a reasonable price gives you more room to preserve value over time.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,832, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,390 average.
• It adds more trim and engine choice.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of owner satisfaction, cleaner inventory, and a still-reasonable price. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better value play, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
