Used 2023 Dodge Durango for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2023 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices are up 6.97% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 4,153 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.67/5, and the expert rating is 7.17/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its styling, powerful performance, and spaciousness, and many also call out the ride comfort and strong gas mileage from the V6. On the downside, some reviews point to interior quality concerns, especially in the back seat, along with depreciation after purchase.

That lines up with the Durango’s use case: you’re getting a three-row SUV with a muscle-car personality, not a soft-focus family hauler. If you want space, style, and strong acceleration, it fits that brief well. If you want the most polished cabin or the lowest running costs, you may want to compare it carefully against more conventional rivals.

Only 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the best examples may take some searching.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on its strong performance, spaciousness, and comfort that make it easy to live with over time. The review summary also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value the V6’s efficiency and the Durango’s long-haul comfort.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Durango’s powertrain lineup is broad and that the same powertrain warranty applies even to the high-output Hellcat engine, which helps support confidence in the hardware. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-output versions can be expensive to run, and the model’s age means condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not guarantee a clean individual vehicle. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with the more powerful V8 engines. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment level matches what you want to live with day to day.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SXT is the entry point, and it gets the simpler interior and the smaller 8.4-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add more upscale materials and features. The Citadel stands out for its more luxurious cabin treatment, including Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated second-row captain’s chairs.
• Powertrain: You can get the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, a 6.4-liter naturally aspirated Hemi V8, or the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the Hellcat. The V6 is the efficiency play, while the V8s deliver much stronger performance but much worse fuel economy.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are standard, but forward collision warning is only standard on the Citadel and optional on some other models. Lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are also standard only on the Citadel, and they are not available on the base SXT.
• Infotainment: SXT and GT models get an 8.4-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Citadel and the two SRT models get a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus the newer Uconnect 5 system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 with RWD is rated at 21 mpg combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 17 mpg combined, the 6.4-liter V8 gets 15 mpg combined, and the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat is rated at 13 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2023 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel, and SRT 392.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the Durango’s space and style at the lowest entry price. It gets the simpler 8.4-inch touchscreen and the more basic cabin treatment, so it’s best if you care more about the SUV’s core utility than extra luxury or tech.
• GT: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of everyday equipment and value. It keeps the V6 setup but gives you a step up from the base model without jumping into the pricier V8 territory, and it can also be dressed up with appearance packages.
• R/T: This is the one to choose if you want the V8 experience without going all the way to the high-performance SRT models. It adds the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and brings a more muscular character, making it the best fit for buyers who want stronger acceleration and a more traditional V8 feel.
• Citadel: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the most upscale cabin treatment in the lineup. It adds Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s chairs, and the more advanced 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration, so it suits you best if comfort and features matter most.
• SRT 392: This is the performance pick if you want serious speed and chassis hardware. It brings the 6.4-liter Hemi V8, the larger touchscreen, and performance-focused equipment, so it’s the right choice if you want the Durango’s muscle-car side to be the main event.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are standard across the lineup, but the more advanced driver-assistance features are concentrated on the Citadel.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,153 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.97% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,839, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $33,541 sits slightly above last year's $31,356.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition. The Durango’s broad appeal also helps: shoppers who want three-row space, strong styling, and available V8 power tend to keep it on their shortlist.

For a future seller, that means well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to market than neglected ones. Trim, mileage, and condition will matter a lot, but the current pricing trend is a favorable sign.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2023 Dodge Durango received top "Good" marks in the original-format moderate front overlap and side tests, as well as the roof strength test, but it received a "Marginal" score in the driver-side small overlap front test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave it a four-star overall safety rating, with five stars in the side crash test, four stars in the frontal crash test, and four stars in the rollover test for RWD models or three stars for AWD models.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are standard on all trim levels. Forward collision warning is standard only on the Citadel and available as part of an option package on other models, while lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are standard only on the Citadel and not available on the base SXT.

The mixed crash-test results and the limited standard driver-assistance content are the main cautions here. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim level and equipment.

Should I buy a 2023 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.97% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The return of the SRT Hellcat as a regular production model is the standout year-specific highlight.

The bottom line: If you want the Durango’s mix of three-row utility, strong styling, and available high-output power, the 2023 is a compelling choice. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and target lower-priced listings, but the best examples may require patience because demand remains healthy.
