The 2023 Ferrari F8 is a high-performance mid-engine two-seat supercar. Its simplistic name is an homage to Ferrari creating the most powerful V8 engine in the brand’s history. ## What’s New for the 2023 Ferrari F8 The Ferrari F8 was introduced for the 2020 model year. For the 2023 model year, the hardtop F8 Tributo has been removed from the lineup, making the F8 Spider the exclusive variant offered. ## Design The F8 Spider features a power-retractable hardtop. It stows swiftly into a power-deploying panel behind the cockpit. As a result of this mechanical ballet, the clear engine cover from the hardtop Tributo is not present. With the top down, there are two svelte buttresses that flow into vents above the engine area. The top can open or close in 14 seconds and at speeds up to 28 mph. ## Powertrain The beating heart of the Ferrari F8 is a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine. It makes 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. This combination is good for a zero-to-60-mph time of 2.8 seconds on the way to a top speed of 211 mph. The F8 Spider is a supremely athletic machine, capable of attacking corners with gusto. It features a Side Slip Angle Traction Control system and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer system allows it to perform controlled drifts. The F8 also boasts carbon ceramic brakes and a front suspension lift system. The latter allows the low-slung supercar to negotiate speed bumps and steep garage entrances. ## Interior Like any Ferrari, the F8 features a driver-focused cockpit, with critical controls on the flat-bottomed steering wheel. This steering wheel has a rev-level LED light on the top, as well as the start button and drive mode dial in the center of it. The F8 Spider’s cabin includes heavily bolstered sport bucket seats to keep the pair of occupants firmly planted in hard cornering. The seats can be made available with attractive contrast stitching. ## Technology As there is no center touch screen in the F8, many of the vehicle functions are operated via two digital displays in the driver’s instrument panel area. The tech features are not exclusive to the driver, as the passenger has their own digital display seamlessly integrated into the dash. It presents information such as vehicle speed, navigation steps, a trip computer, and drive mode settings. ## Safety As the F8 is a specialty performance vehicle, it does not have to meet the demands of the average consumer. That means you won’t find many of the most common modern driver-assistance features, such as forward collision warning or even blind-spot monitoring. You get airbags and a backup camera, which are required by regulation. It also comes standard with rear parking sensors, which is helpful given the F8’s sightlines. ## Pricing At the time of this writing, the 2023 Ferrari F8 Spider starts at around $325,000.
