CarGurus Analysis: 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
overall

Summary
With 2,400 currently listed for sale and an average price of $30,665, 43.6% of 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-Es for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.
91.6% of 2023 Mustang Mach-E models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E stands out as a polished electric crossover that blends style, performance, technology, and utility. It is also described as a showcase of Ford’s engineering and technological prowess, which fits the way it presents itself as more than just a practical EV. Buyers looking for an electric SUV with a sporty personality will find plenty to like, especially since it is noted as fun to drive, comfortable, and impressive on the technology front.
For 2023, the Mach-E’s Premium trim level offers up to 290 miles of range, while the California Route 1 comes only with all-wheel drive and 312 miles of range. The GT also gets a standard panoramic glass roof, and new Carbonized Gray and Vapor Blue paint colors debut. Ford also introduced an enhanced version of its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology, adding to the Mach-E’s appeal for shoppers who want advanced driver assistance in an EV.
The tradeoffs are worth noting, though. The Mach-E is described as having unimpressive electric range, choppy ride quality, and a need for a head-up display. Owner feedback generally reinforces its strengths, with praise for its performance, stylish design, advanced technology, all-wheel-drive capability, and quiet, smooth ride, while also pointing to price and range as common concerns.

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased my Mach-E GT. No regrets, I love all the features, love the performance, and look of my GT. Comparing to the Tesla Y, the charging I thought would be a challenge but the EV charging market has significantly improved and is more reliable and available. The range could be better, but like most EVs, performance or range? But getting over 250 miles a charge is not bad at all considering how the car performs. Love it, go get one!!

It’s really too expensive, but pricing will improve with supply and competition. Smooth, quiet, comfortable, powerful and extremely well equipped. Door and panel gaps are consistent and tight. Build quality seems top notch. I would like a little quicker access to the camera button, but it’s not a big issue. There may be a quicker way already built in, but I haven’t found it. So far a great car.

| Year-Round Low | $29,051 |
| Year-Round High | $32,902 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,550 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −3.31% |
Prices have softened 3.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,389 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability for shoppers comparing prices and trims.
Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?
Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated EV with an 8.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its impressive performance, stylish design, and advanced technology, and they also value the all-wheel-drive capability and quiet, smooth ride. The trade-offs are mainly price and range, which show up as recurring concerns in owner feedback.
That lines up with the overview: you’re shopping a sporty electric crossover that aims to blend style, performance, technology, and utility rather than just basic EV transportation. With 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to find a strong example.
Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel they can count on, with praise for its reliable performance, dependable feel, and generally trouble-free ownership experience. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Mach-E as a polished EV with strong everyday usability and solid driving manners.
Ford’s BlueCruise and broader driver-assistance setup add to the sense of confidence, and the model’s EV architecture means routine maintenance can be simpler than on a gas vehicle. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software features have been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, charging habits, software functionality, and whether the vehicle’s driver-assistance features work as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. The GT stands out with a more distinctive look, revised bumpers, unique 20-inch wheels, and a dark front panel, while the Premium trim is the one tied to the new Nite Pony appearance package.
- Powertrain: You can find single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive setups, with standard-range and extended-range battery packs. Output spans from 266 to 480 horsepower and 317 to 634 pound-feet of torque, so configuration matters a lot.
- Safety package: Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard, along with BlueCruise hands-free highway driving. On Select models, BlueCruise and the surround-view camera may be available only as a trial or option, so verify equipment carefully.
- Infotainment: The Mach-E uses a 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen with Sync 4A, over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, and a navigation system.
- Range & charging: The Premium trim offers up to 290 miles of range, and the California Route 1 comes with 312 miles of range. The GT is rated at 270 miles, and the GT Performance Edition drops to 260 miles.
- Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has been charged, and look for a healthy mix of home charging with reasonable DC fast-charging use. Also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.
Which 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT.
Here's the short version:
- Select: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Mach-E experience at the lowest starting point and plan to verify which driver-assistance features are included on the specific listing.
- Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more range potential and is the trim tied to the Nite Pony appearance package.
- California Route 1: Choose this if you want the longest range mentioned here and standard all-wheel drive.
- GT: This is the performance choice, with 480 horsepower, 600 pound-feet of torque, and a more aggressive look; the GT Performance Edition adds even more capability.
Safety-package note: Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard across the lineup, but BlueCruise and the surround-view camera may vary by trim and availability, so confirm the exact equipment on any used listing.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.
- Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,389 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.31% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $29,051, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?
The current average of $30,504 sits slightly below last year's $31,550.
That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. If you buy smart now, you may benefit from that lower entry point, but resale will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS, and Ford says the EV got five-star ratings for side-impact protection and rollover resistance from NHTSA.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 is standard, along with the latest version of BlueCruise hands-free highway driving. The system adds lane-change capability, predictive speed assist, and lane repositioning to give adjacent traffic more space.
One caveat is that Ford’s own testing notes point to the need for a head-up display, since some BlueCruise prompts rely on the instrument cluster rather than a more immediate visual cue. On used examples, you should also confirm whether BlueCruise and the surround-view camera are standard or trial-based on the specific trim you’re considering.
Should I buy a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.31% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Expert highlight: Ford added an enhanced BlueCruise 1.2 system with lane-change and predictive speed assist.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $32,601, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $30,504 average.
- Ford adds a new Rally trim.
The bottom line: The 2023 is the better value if you want a strong mix of price relief, owner satisfaction, and advanced tech. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year’s added trim and updates, the 2024 is the cleaner upgrade path; otherwise, the 2023 is the smarter buy for price-sensitive shoppers.
