Used 2023 Kia Forte for Sale nearAustin, TX

How much does the 2023 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 1.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 4,435 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Kia Forte earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive fuel economy, and comfortable ride. They also describe it as reliable and fun to drive, with safety features that add to its appeal.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, and some drivers feel the cabin can seem a bit cheap, especially in the trunk area. For you, that means the Forte makes the most sense if you want an affordable compact sedan that feels more polished than a bare-bones commuter.

Good and great deals account for 36.0% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Forte as well-built and a solid choice in a competitive class.

The Forte also benefits from a generous warranty, which can help reduce ownership anxiety early on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Kia Forte?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, interior wear, and how the car drives at low speeds and on rough pavement. Pay extra attention to trim-specific equipment so you know whether the car has the features you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT trims add bold red accents and a more exciting look, while the interior keeps a traditional layout that can be easier to learn than more screen-heavy rivals. Base models are simpler, so check carefully for the feature gaps you care about before you buy.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a CVT in the base setup, or a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in GT models with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual. The base engine is adequate, while the GT is the choice if you want more urgency.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic warning and a safe passenger exit system are optional on the LXS, while adaptive cruise control and pedestrian/cyclist detection are optional on the GT-Line and standard on the Top GT trims, along with rear parking proximity sensors.
• Infotainment: Supporting trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen, while GT-Line and above get a 10.25-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless charging starts at GT-Line or higher.
• Fuel efficiency: The base LX is estimated at 34 mpg combined, other models with the base powertrain are rated at 32 mpg combined, the automatic GT returns 30 mpg combined, and the manual GT is estimated at 26 mpg combined.

Which 2023 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Forte is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, LXS, GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and the best fuel economy in the lineup. It gives you the essentials without stretching your budget, but you should expect the fewest extras.
• LXS: This is the trim to target if you want a smarter balance of price and equipment. It keeps the Forte affordable while opening the door to more safety tech, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
• GT-Line: This is the pick if you want the richer tech setup, including the larger touchscreen and added convenience features. It suits you best if you care more about everyday comfort and features than absolute minimum cost.

The safety package expands as you move up the lineup, with some driver-assistance features reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,435 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,496, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $18,322 sits slightly below last year's $18,590.

That softer pricing suggests the Forte is still a value-oriented buy, which can help it stay attractive to used shoppers later. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure when it comes time to sell.

The current market also shows that demand remains broad enough to support resale, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. Strong condition and a clean history should matter a lot if you want to protect future value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Kia Forte safe?

The 2023 Kia Forte earns four-star ratings in frontal, side, and rollover crash tests from NHTSA, and the IIHS gave it a Good score in most evaluations but Poor results in the updated front moderate overlap and side impact tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and a driver attention monitor. Some base forward collision mitigation features do not meet the Administration's performance criteria, while available upgrades do.

That means you should pay close attention to the exact safety equipment on the car you’re considering. Higher trims can add more useful driver-assistance tech, and the IIHS results make it especially important to verify the feature set rather than assuming every Forte is equally equipped.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 Forte combines strong value with a comfortable ride and available manual transmission.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $16,472, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $18,322 average.
• It offers updated infotainment, driver assist, and collision avoidance systems.

The bottom line: If you want the better all-around package, the 2023 is the stronger pick because it balances value, equipment, and market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers a lot of the same appeal.
