Used 2023 Subaru WRX for Sale nearTucson, AZ

How much does the 2023 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 2.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,278 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Subaru WRX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a rally-inspired compact sport sedan with a distinctive performance-focused personality, sharp handling, and available manual transmission. Those strengths make it especially appealing if you want an enthusiast car that still works as a daily driver.

The trade-offs are that the technology is unintuitive and the car is considered poor value for money, and it also offers less cargo space than rivals. Even so, its all-wheel-drive performance roots and driver-focused character give it a clear identity in a crowded segment.

Only 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The WRX’s appeal comes from a proven formula: standard all-wheel drive, a turbocharged engine, and a setup that prioritizes driver engagement over flash. The expert review also describes the car as quiet and comfortable enough for daily use, which supports the idea that it can handle regular ownership well.

Its performance hardware is straightforward, and the available manual transmission gives you a simpler, more traditional setup if that matters to you. Subaru’s warranty coverage is fairly standard, which fits the car’s mainstream ownership profile.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term risk is choosing a car that was driven hard without careful maintenance or inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a sporty sedan like this can attract harder use than an average commuter car. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on wear items, signs of modification, and overall condition. Pay close attention to the drivetrain, brakes, tires, and interior condition so you know whether the car was treated like an enthusiast vehicle or a daily driver.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models get 17-inch wheels, while other trims get 18-inch wheels, and the GT adds Recaro Performance Design front seats, eight-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, and Ultrasuede upholstery for the front seats and dashboard cover.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, standard all-wheel drive, and either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT.
• Safety package: Subaru’s EyeSight system is available only with the CVT and adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centering, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse automatic braking, and steering-responsive headlights are also available.
• Infotainment: Base models get dual 7-inch touchscreens, while Premium and higher trims get an 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 22 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway), while the CVT is rated at 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway).

Which 2023 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Subaru WRX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the WRX formula at the lowest price, and it still gives you the core performance character, standard all-wheel drive, and the manual transmission. It also keeps the simpler dual 7-inch touchscreen setup, which may suit you if you care more about driving than cabin tech.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen and keeps the WRX’s core enthusiast appeal intact. If you want the most balanced mix of equipment and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Limited: This trim adds more comfort and convenience, plus the better-rated headlights mentioned in the safety content. It makes sense if you want a more upscale daily driver without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• GT: This is the most feature-rich version, with Recaro Performance Design front seats, Ultrasuede trim, electronically controlled dampers, and drive mode select. It suits you best if you want the most polished and adjustable WRX experience.

Only the CVT-equipped WRX gets EyeSight, so safety-tech shoppers should keep that trim-and-transmission pairing in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,278 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.07% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,215, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $28,243 sits slightly below last year's $28,841.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car was maintained.

Because the WRX has a strong enthusiast identity, clean examples should continue to attract attention. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2023 Subaru WRX earns top "Good" scores in all crash tests completed so far from IIHS, and a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, including five-star ratings in frontal, side, and rollover crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Subaru’s EyeSight system is the key driver-assistance suite, and it adds adaptive cruise control, automated lane-centering, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. That system is only available with the CVT, so manual-transmission shoppers miss out on those standard driver aids.

The standard headlights were rated "Acceptable," while the headlights available on Limited and GT models got the "Good" rating. That makes the higher trims more appealing if lighting performance matters to you.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 carries over the fourth-generation formula without changes, so you get the established WRX setup with sharp handling and available manual transmission.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,945, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $28,243 average.
• It is an evolutionary update that sharpened the WRX’s powertrain, suspension, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad selection of listings, the 2023 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the better value path and still delivers the WRX’s core performance-and-practicality formula.
