Should I buy a 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,878, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $26,836 average.
• It adds standard digital instrumentation and more standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,960, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $26,836 average.
• It brings a refresh with more standard features and a stronger turbocharged engine.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of price, deal availability, and owner satisfaction. If your top priority is spending less, the 2022 is the better value play; if you want newer features and a more modern setup, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
