Is the 2024 BMW X6 a good car?

The 2024 BMW X6 stands out because it still leans into the model’s original crossover-coupe formula: a low roofline, aggressive styling, and a sportier personality than the more conventional SUV shape it shares its basics with. For 2024, BMW gave it updated lighting with sequential turn signals, new fascias and bumpers, new wheels, and more power for the xDrive40i, which rose to 375 hp. It also added an optional Highway Assistant for hands-free driving, reinforcing the X6’s mix of style and technology.

Inside, the 2024 BMW X6 remains well equipped and distinctly upscale. Standard features include a panoramic moonroof, a proximity key, two 12.3-inch displays running iDrive 7, navigation, adaptive LED headlights, blind-spot monitors, forward emergency braking, lane-departure warning, a sports leather steering wheel, and heated front seats. The model also offers a larger, single curved display with upgraded software and the removal of many physical controls, which gives the cabin a more modern feel. Buyers looking for more performance-oriented luxury can also appreciate the available M60i’s added equipment, including the M Sport differential, larger brakes, a sports exhaust, multi-contour seats, four-zone climate control, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Harman Kardon stereo, Wi-Fi, and wireless charging.

The tradeoffs are part of the X6’s identity. Its design prioritizes style over utility, and the buying guide notes poor cargo space and poor fuel economy among its drawbacks. Even so, the 2024 BMW X6 remains appealing for shoppers who want a luxury SUV with a distinctive shape, strong powertrains, and a long list of standard and available features.

With 39.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.

For long-term ownership, you should expect higher upkeep risk than you would with a simpler mainstream SUV, so a thorough pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW X6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then confirm the vehicle’s condition with a pre-purchase inspection. Focus on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the electronics, suspension, or luxury features have not been maintained properly. Because this model emphasizes style and technology, you’ll want to make sure the cabin equipment and driving aids work as intended.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW X6?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a strong example if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 498 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $63,553, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW X6's resale value?

The current average of $63,566 sits slightly below last year's $69,642.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently today. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong documentation should matter more when you eventually go to market.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW X6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 BMW X6 makes the most sense if you want the refreshed look, updated lighting, and added tech from this model year while still shopping in a market with decent deal availability. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 is the better pick if you want the latest styling and equipment balance without moving up to a newer model.
