About 2024 Ford Edge
Despite rumors of its demise, the Ford Edge carries on into 2024. The long-running five-seater trades three rows of seating for five seats and plenty of useful cargo space, but its star has faded in recent years as more compelling, tech-forward options emerge from other automakers. ## What’s New for the 2024 Ford Edge The Ford Edge rolls into 2024 as a direct carryover from 2023. ## Design Ford has sharpened the Edge’s design over the years, giving it a more appealing look than the somewhat rounded, frumpy styling earlier models brought. It features sporty, muscular proportions and comes standard with 18-inch wheels. Higher trims add 19-, 20-, or 21-inch wheels, depending on the configuration. LED daytime running lights and taillights, a manual liftgate, and body-colored exterior trim are also standard. ## Powertrain Ford offers two powertrains in the Edge. The base configuration includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque–a respectable number but nowhere near as strong as the available twin-turbo V6. It produces 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, turning the Edge into a legitimately quick utility vehicle. The four-cylinder comes with an eight-speed automatic and the V6 gets a seven-speed gearbox. Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard and all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. ## Interior Ford advertises the Edge as a five-seater, but four can ride much more comfortably in its reasonably nice cabin. Cloth upholstery comes standard, along with manual front seat adjustments. Synthetic and genuine leathers are available, and higher trim levels bring heating and ventilation for the front seats. The ST trim adds sport seats with more aggressive bolstering, suede accents, and silver stitching. Cargo space is generous, at 39.2 cubic feet behind the second-row seats and up to 73.4 cubic feet with the back row folded flat. ## Technology Ford recently updated the Edge with a new infotainment system, bringing a massive 12-inch display and the latest Sync 4A interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with a digital owner’s manual, Bluetooth, cloud-connected app features, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, USB inputs, and six speakers. Top trims add upgraded stereos, including a 12-speaker B&O sound system, navigation, wireless device charging, remote start, and more. ## Safety Every 2024 Edge gets Ford Co-Pilot360 safety tech. The package includes automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, lane-departure alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera. The Titanium trim gets rain-sensing wipers and a forward sensing system. Crash-test results aren’t yet available for the 2024 Edge as of this writing, but its predecessor earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in 2022. ## Pricing As of this writing, the 2024 Ford Edge SE starts at $38,365. The SEL starts at $39,565, the ST-Line at $43,620, and the Titanium at $43,720. The range-topping ST model, with its twin-turbo V6, starts at $47,205. Buyers can drive those prices higher with added luxury equipment, such as heated rear seats and a panoramic sunroof.
