Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning stands out because it brings full-size electric-truck capability to a familiar F-Series package, and it is aimed at traditional truck buyers rather than early adopters. It is especially appealing if you want a comfortable electric truck that can handle tailgating, camping, or job-site power needs without giving up the familiar look and feel of an F-150. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is built around a modified structure to fit a large battery pack and two electric motors, and Ford added a vapor-injection heat pump as standard to help stabilize range in cold weather. It also comes with a strong list of safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, post-collision braking, and high-beam assist. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about traditional engine wear and more about whether the truck’s range and towing performance fit your daily needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and confirm the truck’s accident and title history before you commit. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery-related systems, charging equipment, and any signs of heavy use, especially if the truck was used for towing or job-site duty. Focus on overall condition and how the truck was maintained, since electric-truck ownership can vary a lot depending on how it was driven and charged.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 589 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,244, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning's resale value?

The current average of $49,271 sits slightly below last year's $51,134.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited if the trend continues. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s broad appeal as a familiar full-size electric pickup should help keep demand steady among shoppers who want utility without a dramatic learning curve. The current pricing also gives you a clearer benchmark for judging whether a used listing is fairly positioned today.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the most balanced version of this electric truck’s formula, the 2024 model is the one to target because it combines strong owner satisfaction, good inventory depth, and softer pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-conditioned example rather than chasing a specific model year badge.
