Used 2024 GMC Canyon for Sale nearDenver, CO

How much does the 2024 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 7.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,790 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon a good car?

It’s a strong choice if you want a midsize pickup that feels more serious, more upscale, and more capability-focused than many rivals. You’re looking at a 3/5 user rating and an expert score of 7.17/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Canyon’s appeal starts with its tall, wide stance, strong standard equipment, and premium-feeling cabin materials. It also brings serious capability, including a powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an especially rugged AT4X setup when you want more off-road hardware.

The trade-offs are real: the truck is pricey, the back seat is cramped, and the bed is shorter than competitors’.

With 37.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon reliable?

The Canyon’s overall setup suggests a truck built for durability and hard use, with a robust turbocharged engine, strong towing numbers, and road manners that stay composed even on rough pavement. The expert evaluation also points to well-damped noise, confident braking, and suspension hardware that helps it handle uneven terrain without feeling overly soft on-road.

Its powertrain is described as strong enough for towing, hauling, and off-road driving, which is a good sign if you plan to use it like a truck rather than just commute in it. The cost-effectiveness notes also make clear that operating costs can run high, especially because fuel economy is not a strength.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a truck this capable and expensive can become costly to own if maintenance, fuel use, or off-road wear have been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, trail driving, or heavy commuting. Focus on tire wear, suspension condition, brake life, and signs of off-road damage underneath the truck.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation comes closest to a work-truck setup, while AT4 leans more off-road, Denali leans luxury, and AT4X doubles down on dirt-focused capability. The base trim still gets dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, so you’re not starting from a stripped-down truck.
• Powertrain: Every trim gets the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The truck is paired with an eight-speed automatic, and the setup is strong enough for towing, hauling, and off-road driving.
• Safety package: The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. On lower trims, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require the Canyon Safety Plus package.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also includes off-road performance display pages, and the Denali and AT4X add a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The best-rated setup is the rear-wheel-drive model at 19 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The AT4X AEV tester was rated at 16 mpg across the board.

Which 2024 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here’s the short version:

• Elevation: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Canyon’s core strengths without jumping deep into the price ladder. You still get a strong standard equipment list, including dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, a digital gauge cluster, and the large touchscreen, but some advanced safety features cost extra.
• AT4: This is the smart pick if you want more off-road intent without going all the way to the top. It builds on the Canyon’s rugged character and is a better fit if you want capability first and luxury second.
• Denali: Choose this if you care most about a more upscale feel. It leans into comfort and premium presentation, and it also gets the head-up display.
• AT4X: This is the one for you if you want the most serious off-road hardware. It adds front and rear lockers, and the AEV package pushes the truck even further with 35-inch tires, steel skid plates, and a full-size spare.

The Canyon Safety Plus package is the key trim-level safety note to keep in mind on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,790 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,637, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $39,637 sits slightly below last year's $43,073.

That price movement suggests the Canyon has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a better value point. For a future seller, though, it also means you may face more pressure to price competitively if the market stays soft.

Because the Canyon is still a premium-priced midsize truck, condition and equipment will matter a lot when it’s time to resell. A well-kept truck with desirable trim content should hold up better than one that shows heavy use or missing equipment.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2024 GMC Canyon earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact testing from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Canyon comes standard with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. On lower trims, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require the Canyon Safety Plus package.

That means you get a solid baseline of active safety tech, but you may need to step up or pay extra if you want the fuller driver-assistance suite.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.98% compared with last year.
• The 2024 adds a new AEV package that pushes the AT4X deeper into serious off-road territory.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,444, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $39,637 average.
• It’s a redesigned Canyon with a more upscale feel and strong tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the added AEV off-road option and a softer used-market price trend, the 2024 makes sense. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up the latest year-specific upgrade, the 2023 is the better value play.
