How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 5.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,734 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable range of choices.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia K5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a stylish, comfortable, enjoyable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan, and it is framed as an overlooked value play with turbocharging standard. That makes it a strong fit if you want a well-equipped sedan without moving into a higher price bracket.

The main trade-offs are its unimpressive real-world fuel economy and concerning crash-test performance. The interior materials also feel cheap, so you should expect value and equipment more than premium cabin finishes.

Good and great deals account for 34.3% of listings, which is a decent sign that you can still find competitive pricing.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia K5 is presented as a solid long-term value because it combines standard turbocharging with a strong warranty reputation and an engine immobilizer system for theft deterrence. Its overall package is also described as comfortable and well equipped, which supports day-to-day dependability for many buyers.

The performance notes point to a turbocharged setup that delivers healthy low-end torque and a transmission that shifts quickly and decisively. The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize one of the best factory warranty plans available, which is a meaningful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is not mechanical complexity so much as whether you can live with the fuel economy and safety concerns over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a car with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, brake wear, and whether the cabin and exterior show signs of harder use than the mileage suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT-Line sits one step above the base LXS and one step below the more upscale EX, while the GT is the budget sports-sedan choice. The base LXS misses some of the nicer cabin and tech touches found higher up, and the GT-Line adds a sportier look with standard heated seats for 2024.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic, while the GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is available with GT-Line, and the GT is front-wheel drive only.
• Safety package: Kia Drive Wise is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, and a rear-seat reminder system, while upgrades add cyclist detection, parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The LXS has an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions, and the larger screen adds navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg with all-wheel drive, while the GT is rated at 27 mpg.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, and it makes the K5’s value case work if you want the lowest price and still want standard turbo power, wireless smartphone integration, and the core safety suite.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the sportier look, standard heated seats for 2024, and available all-wheel drive without jumping to the pricier GT.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel than the GT-Line and are willing to pay more for the added comfort and equipment.
• GT: This is the one to buy if you want the most performance, with the stronger turbo engine, sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, larger wheels, and launch control.

Kia Drive Wise is standard across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features remain upgrades rather than standard equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,734 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,938, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,938 sits slightly below last year's $26,283.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and trim than on broad market momentum.

Because the K5 is still positioned as a value-oriented sedan, well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones. Higher trims and cleaner histories should also hold up better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns low scores in updated IIHS frontal-impact and side-impact tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 K5 has Kia Drive Wise, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard safety equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, navigation-based adaptive cruise control with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist. The main caveat is that the updated IIHS results are a concern, even though the car otherwise rates highly for safety.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps standard turbocharging and stands out as a stylish, comfortable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,569, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,938 average.
• It brings updated styling and more standard tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong equipment and a softer market. If you are willing to pay more for the refreshed look and newer tech, the 2025 is the better alternative.
