Used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale nearDetroit, MI

How much does the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 12.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,467 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The overview and test-drive notes point to a large three-row luxury SUV that was refreshed for the year with minor styling changes, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and an updated MBUX system. That combination makes it especially appealing if you want a refined, high-end family hauler with comfort, premium materials, and easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are real: the AMG Line Package can make entry and exit harder, third-row access is a challenge, and the touch-sensitive controls may not suit everyone. Even so, the GLS still comes across as a polished luxury SUV that fits buyers who want everyday usability without giving up upscale feel.

39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLS is described as a refined, desirable SUV that delivers the kind of everyday satisfaction expected from a Mercedes-Benz, and the expert evaluation reinforces that impression with praise for its quiet, quick, and well-calibrated driving character. The powertrain is described as smooth, silky, and lively from a stop, while the overall package is presented as one that won’t fail to meet expectations.

The cost-effectiveness notes also emphasize impressive efficiency for the class, which helps reduce the burden of day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with a complex luxury SUV, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with advanced electronics and a complex cabin. Focus on how the controls, seating access, and driver-assistance systems work in real use, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLS 450 is the most affordable version, while the GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600 move you up the range. The GLS 450 is the value play if you want the core luxury experience without stepping into the pricier versions.
• Powertrain: The GLS 450 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, while the higher models use a twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid technology. The GLS 450 is described as smooth, quick, and strong enough that you may not need the extra power or added ownership cost of the V8 models.
• Safety package: Safety comes standard, and the suite includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist. The systems are adjustable through MBUX, and the expert evaluation says they work transparently and without causing driver aggravation.
• Infotainment: The GLS uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, along with improved graphics, voice recognition, and augmented-reality navigation. The touch-sensitive controls can be frustrating, so make sure you’re comfortable with the interface before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS is offered in 4 trim levels: GLS 450, GLS 580, AMG GLS 63, and Maybach GLS 600.

Here's the short version:

• GLS 450: This is the best-value choice if you want the core GLS experience. It delivers the smooth inline-six powertrain, strong efficiency, and the same upscale cabin feel that defines the model.
• GLS 580: Choose this if you want more power and the added capability of the twin-turbo V8 setup. It also stands out because it is the version associated with the available Off-Road Package.
• AMG GLS 63: Pick this if you want the performance-oriented version of the GLS lineup and are willing to pay for the extra capability and character that come with it.
• Maybach GLS 600: This is the top luxury choice if your priority is maximum prestige and the most elevated version of the GLS formula.

Safety comes standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,467 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $71,817, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $71,817 sits slightly below last year's $81,862.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Because this is a high-end SUV with strong equipment and broad appeal, a clean example should still attract interest from shoppers who want luxury, space, and technology in one package. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Safety comes standard, and the GLS includes a broad suite of advanced driver-assistance systems that can be adjusted through MBUX. The expert evaluation highlights forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning with haptic feedback, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering assist, all of which worked smoothly in real-world driving.

The main caveat is that the lane-centering assist briefly turned off in one specific situation during testing, so you should still stay attentive even with the systems engaged.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year brings minor styling modifications, fresh colors and trim, more standard equipment, enhanced off-roading technology, and an updated MBUX infotainment system.

The bottom line: The 2024 GLS is the right pick if you want the refreshed version with updated tech and a strong mix of comfort, luxury, and usability. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2024 gives you a well-rounded package with meaningful updates and a market that currently favors careful shoppers.
