Should I buy a 2024 Rivian R1S or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.97% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest mix of current pricing and available inventory in this model-year window. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby years and focus on the listings that land closest to the low end of the current range.
