Is the 2024 Subaru WRX a good car?

The 2024 Subaru WRX stands out as a rally-bred sport compact that pairs a turbocharged engine with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It is a sedan-only model that prioritizes grip, driver involvement, and performance hardware over comfort-first compromises.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a practical sedan with an enthusiast identity, great handling, and available manual transmission. You should also expect tradeoffs, including outdated technology and poor fuel economy.

With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

Is the 2024 Subaru WRX reliable?

The 2024 Subaru WRX is built around a familiar performance formula, with standard all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine that should feel reassuringly consistent if you want a sporty daily driver. Its appeal comes from a focused setup that continues to prioritize driving engagement and traction.

At the same time, you should think about long-term ownership risk in the context of a performance sedan, where maintenance history and condition matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified, tracked, or driven hard. Focus on overall condition, service records, tire wear, brake wear, and signs that the drivetrain or suspension has been stressed.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,004 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,181, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $30,440 sits slightly below last year's $31,619.

That suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

If you keep the car clean, stock, and well documented, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell. If you buy at the low end of the range, you may also have less depreciation pressure than someone who pays closer to the top of the market.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.73% compared with last year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,243, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,440 average.
• It carries over the generation's established performance-focused formula.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad pool of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you find one in strong condition with a clean history.
