The 2024 Tesla Model Y stands out as an electric crossover that combines strong performance, generous cargo space, and a long driving range with a distinctly Tesla approach to packaging and controls. It was based on the Tesla Model 3 and shared 70% to 75% of its parts, but its taller body, coupe-like SUV shape, and rear hatch gave it more space and versatility than the sedan it resembles. Standard equipment was also notably rich, including a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen that doubles as a gauge cluster, heated front and rear seats, reclining rear seats, a glass roof, four USB ports, video streaming capability, and Tesla’s Autopilot system.
For 2024, the Model Y’s range story remained a major part of its appeal. The Long Range model was estimated at 310 miles, while the Performance model was estimated at 279 miles, and the base Model Y RWD managed 260 miles. Buyers also got the benefit of Tesla’s fast-moving product strategy, which had already brought updates such as updated high-definition cameras, ambient lighting, updated suspension tuning, and a new Autopilot processor in 2023. That said, the Model Y still has clear tradeoffs: it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rides firmly, and puts almost all controls through the touchscreen.

Awesome I like the auto steer as well as the auto pilot feature makes it a joy to drive. I like all the technology features that this offers in the integration to my cell phone with my calendar and automatic map routing. The overall torque and acceleration on EV’s are amazing. I like all the technology and integration involved with the Tesla overall.
