Is the 2024 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2024 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian style. It rides on the brand’s modern SPA platform and carries the same refined design language and advanced safety systems associated with Volvo’s larger flagship models, but in a smaller, sleeker package. It also benefits from being assembled in North America, a first for the S60, which adds another layer of distinction to the model’s story.

For you, that means the S60 makes the most sense if you want a stylish luxury sedan with a polished cabin, strong standard equipment, and a safety-first personality. It is especially appealing if comfort and upscale design matter more to you than outright sportiness or rear-seat space. 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2024 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2024 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and Scandinavian style. It carries the same refined design language and advanced safety systems associated with Volvo’s larger flagship models, and that focus on safety is a major part of its appeal.

For used-car buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium sedan like this can be more expensive to keep in top shape if you skip maintenance or buy a poorly cared-for example. If you want the best odds of a smooth ownership experience, prioritize service records and condition over mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if it looks clean at first glance. Put the inspection focus on the cabin, electronics, and overall maintenance quality, since those are the areas where a luxury sedan’s condition can matter most to your ownership experience. If possible, choose the best-maintained example you can find rather than stretching for the cheapest one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo S60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 679 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.87% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 89.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $30,741 sits slightly above last year's $30,178.

That upward move suggests the S60 is holding value reasonably well for a used luxury sedan. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a decent shot at preserving more of its value than you would with a weaker-trending model. The current pricing also tells you that sellers still have some leverage, so condition and equipment will matter when it comes time to resell.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.87% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is a strong choice if you want the latest version of this sedan’s safety-first, comfort-focused formula and you can find a clean example at a fair price. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point while still delivering much of the same core appeal, so compare condition and pricing closely before you decide.
