The Honda Odyssey's current nationwide average price is $24,850, and its lowest point over the past year was $22,592. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the Honda Odyssey is a strong used minivan choice if you want a family-focused vehicle with broad appeal and a long track record of owner satisfaction. The all-generations owner rating is 4.61/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Odyssey for its spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and versatile seating, and they also value its family-friendly features and safety equipment. Across the model years, those themes show up again and again as the core reasons shoppers keep coming back to it.

Expert reviews rate the 2014 and 2016 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs in recent expert reviews center on fuel economy, technology that feels dated in places, and value that can be hard to justify versus some rivals. Even so, the Odyssey remains a compelling used buy if you want a practical minivan with strong everyday usability.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda Odyssey?

Across all model years, at 71.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2023 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Honda Sensing
• Infotainment: a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: According to the EPA, the 2025 Odyssey should get 22 mpg in combined driving. Our test vehicle returned 21.4 mpg on the evaluation loop and averaged 24 mpg during a week of travel that included an eight-hour round-trip drive from the far northwestern reaches of the Los Angeles suburbs to downtown San Diego.

Which Honda Odyssey trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Odyssey offers these trims:

• EX-L: The entry point for 2025 brings the Odyssey's familiar comfort-first setup and a high-quality cabin, making it the starting point for shoppers who want the core family-hauler experience.
• Sport-L: Adds a sportier appearance and a step up in style while keeping the Odyssey's practical layout intact.
• Touring: A strong value choice if you want more convenience and family-focused equipment, including CabinWatch and a rear entertainment setup.
• Elite: The top trim adds the most premium equipment, including a hands-free tailgate, wireless phone charging, an 11-speaker audio system, and heated and ventilated seats.

What Honda Odyssey do most buyers choose?

The Honda Odyssey years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they combine broad availability with newer features and strong family appeal. More listings also give you more room to compare prices, trims, and condition before you buy.

What is the Honda Odyssey's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show especially sharp declines. That pattern can work in your favor as a used buyer because it opens up more value in newer model years. The smallest changes are clustered in the older model years, which suggests those versions have moved more gradually.

The 2015, 2016, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Honda Odyssey now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −15.68% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.15%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 39%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $35,562. The Honda Odyssey offers a spacious cabin and versatile seating that make it especially easy to live with for family duty.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Under its stubby hood, you’ll find a tried-and-true 3.5-liter V6 engine making 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission delivers that motive force to the Odyssey’s front wheels.
• Tech: A new 7-inch digital driver display pairs with an analog speedometer, and the minivan adds a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a faster processor for quicker response to inputs.
• Safety: Every 2025 Odyssey has Honda Sensing, a collection of driving-assistance systems.
• Starting price: For 2025, the Odyssey comes in EX-L, Sport-L, Touring, and Elite trim levels. With the departure of the base EX trim, the most affordable version of the Odyssey jumps higher in price, to $42,220 from $38,240 for last year’s EX model.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
