How much does the 2015 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,446 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 from owners and 7/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its good looks, comfort, strong performance, fuel economy, and handling. That lines up with the overview: you get a compact crossover that feels more engaging to drive than many rivals, even if it gives up some practicality. For you, that means the CX-5 makes the most sense if you value driving enjoyment and everyday comfort more than maximum cargo space or the most feature-rich cabin.

Good and great deals account for 33.9% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2015 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a model that feels dependable in daily use, with buyers highlighting strong performance, comfort, fuel economy, and handling over the long haul. The expert review also says the quality is there and the reliability is there, which reinforces the sense that this is a crossover you can count on.

The ownership picture is helped by low cost of ownership and 3 years of free roadside assistance, which adds a useful cushion for used buyers. Even so, you should still budget for age-related wear and verify maintenance history carefully, since long-term ownership risk rises as mileage and prior use accumulate.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Mazda CX-5?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, repair quality, and signs of prior bodywork, since accident history can affect both reliability and resale value. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment closely, because some desirable features were optional rather than standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport trim starts with the basics and even leaves Bluetooth out unless you add the bargain package, while Touring adds a peppier engine, a standard automatic, keyless entry, push-button ignition, a blind-spot warning system, and a touchscreen with a reversing camera. Grand Touring adds leather upholstery, heated front seats and mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and a premium audio system.
• Powertrain: Touring and Grand Touring use a 184-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, and the automatic transmission shifts swiftly and smoothly. All-wheel drive is optional, and the review notes that the CX-5 is not especially quick even with the larger engine.
• Safety package: The Technology Package adds Smart City Brake Support and adaptive bi-Xenon headlights. Touring already includes a blind-spot warning system, while Grand Touring adds rain-sensing wipers. The CX-5 does not offer rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The Bluetooth Audio Package centers on a 5.8-inch touchscreen display and adds Bluetooth calling and music streaming, HD Radio, satellite radio, text-messaging support, Pandora Internet radio, E911 emergency services connectivity, USB connectivity, and a reversing camera. The system lacks smartphone-app integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the EPA estimate for the front-wheel-drive Grand Touring was 27 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 24 mpg in suburban driving.

Which 2015 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the CX-5’s driving character. Just know that Bluetooth is not standard, so you may need the bargain package to get the connectivity most shoppers expect.
• Touring: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the peppier engine, a standard automatic, keyless entry, push-button ignition, a blind-spot warning system, and the touchscreen/reversing-camera setup. It gives you the most useful equipment gains without jumping all the way to the top trim.
• Grand Touring: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features, including leather upholstery, heated front seats and mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, and a premium audio system.

The Technology Package is worth considering on Touring and Grand Touring if you want Smart City Brake Support and adaptive bi-Xenon headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,446 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,233, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $12,433 sits slightly above last year's $11,868.

That upward move suggests the CX-5 has held buyer interest well enough to support pricing. For a future seller, that’s a positive sign: a model with steady demand and a relatively tight price band can be easier to move when it’s time to trade in or list privately. The fact that the market is still showing a meaningful share of good and great deals also means buyers are paying attention to value, so condition and trim equipment will matter.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The 2015 Mazda CX-5 earns a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Touring model includes E911 emergency services connectivity and a blind-spot monitoring system, while the Grand Touring adds rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Technology Package adds Smart City Brake Support, which can automatically apply the brakes if it detects a car or pedestrian ahead, along with adaptive bi-Xenon headlamps with an adaptive front lighting system.

One caveat is that Mazda does not offer rear cross-traffic alert on this CX-5, so you should not assume every useful driver-assistance feature is built in.

Should I buy a 2015 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says the CX-5 is fun to drive but needs improvements in functionality to better compete with more popular compact crossovers.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact crossover that feels more engaging than most rivals, the 2015 CX-5 is a strong pick. You should lean toward it if driving enjoyment, comfort, and owner satisfaction matter most. If your priority is maximum practicality or the newest feature set, you may want to compare it carefully against other years and focus on the best-equipped trim you can find.
