What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 express strong satisfaction with its power, handling, and comfort, especially praising the Hemi engine for its impressive performance. Many drivers appreciate the spacious interior and towing capabilities. However, a common downside noted is the poor gas mileage, which has disappointed several owners. Despite its fuel inefficiency, many recommend it for its reliability and strong performance."
Awesome power and great ride! With the Hemi, towing and hauling will never be a problem...Twenty inch rims, add extra height and comfort to an already great ride. The interior is reasonably "classy" when one remembers that they are actually in a truck. The upgrade to an Infinity sound system was worth the extra few dollars...
July 25, 2008I was a Ford man until the new Dodge came out in '02. But I wasn't sold on it due to its underpowered gas guzzling engine selection. Granted the 318 was bullet proof, just not great for a 5000lb truck. The 360 hasn't been good since '78 in my opinion. Then the Hemi made its come back, and the dotted line was signed. This truck still puts down the power, acceleration is amazing! Braking on the other hand could use some upgrades. When you stand on the brakes hard you want the trust that it'll stop you in time, and it does(first hand experience). After replacing the shocks the handling is back to the new truck feel. Normal repairs have been done: steering hoses, complete trans flush including torque converter, and all other fluids at regular times. As for gas mileage, lets be honest, Green Peace probably doesn't like it, but I get 12 mpg city and 18 mpg hwy. It's not the best but it is truck. The interior in this model 02-05 is enjoyable. You get in the leather and suede wrapped seats are comfy and dash has a great layout and doesn't give the appearance of being cheap. I have a minor problem with visiblity, power seats correct that, except for the A pillars which seem to create a blind spot. For me, I have to see the end of my hood, just a thing I need. The bug deflector is my aid to that. Overall, I recommend this style and model truck. There's always room for improvements in any vehicle.
January 9, 2009This truck is awesome. I love how it accelerates, it gets up to speed right quick. Never really needs anything serious worked on. The sound system is banging. Its a weapon with its 5.7 Hemi. Its comfortable going long distances, looks sexy and the paint is smooth and mirror flat.

November 17, 2009I loved that truck, big, heavy and deceptively quick. Yeah, it had a Hemi. Though the second row was a little tight for adults on a long trip the cab was very comfortable for the driver and front passenger Leather and the whole nine yards, only shortfalls were that the sunroof was not an option in 2004 and they would not put the 6 speed manual tranny in the truck with the Hemi. I would go for the Mega Cab this time and of course the Ram Box storage,
October 17, 2009What else can you say about a vehicle that goes and goes with few problems after 10 years. It has plenty of space for all my needs and extra room for passengers if needed. After 10 years this truck still shines!
February 19, 2014it has been very dependable since day 1, other than routine maintenance it had not cost me a dime for any major repairs, the hemi engine is second to none in its class and the body design is just as amazing as its drive train, would recommend a dodge ram to anyone considering getting one,
May 20, 2013handles like a car. runs like a dream. i dont have any problems on or off road, gets around great in snow and ice. basic maintenance is all ive had to do to it. gas mileage is low but its worth it. has everything i want in a truck.
June 14, 2011If you know anything about pre 2006 dodge transmissions you know. Its an easy truck to work on and modify because of the design of the hood and the placement of the bumper. Adequate space is available in both the engine compartment and the cab. 17'' tires are a must though. Curb hopping is so much more easy.
August 8, 2010Love drifting in the snow and rain. Nice and loud. Could use some more power. Nice interior. Blue. Just a great overall car and wonderful for a first car. Very fun to drive in the summer with all of the windows down.
February 25, 2010this truck is a beast, great off road capabilities, awsome/intimidating looks and ultra classy on the inside. Everything for this truck is more expensive, oil changes are more, fill ups are more, tires are ridiculous in price.AMAZING VEHICULE AMAZING LOOKS
