What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2007 Pontiac Torrent appreciate its comfortable ride, roomy interior, and pleasing aesthetics. Many drivers highlight its good handling and performance, especially compared to other SUVs. However, some have mentioned issues like road noise and a troublesome cruise control system. Despite a few minor drawbacks, the Torrent is generally seen as a reliable option for families and road trips."
I like it because it handles better than my old suv. I'm glad that we purchased it as a family car, it comes in handy during winter months. It also gets good gas mileage as well which is a plus in our book.
June 12, 2008The price was great and the Torrent is very pleasing to the eye. I love the how roomy it is from front to back. The electronic steering was hard to get used to at first because it is so touchy. But, I am used to it and love the smoothness.
October 20, 2007The car handles very well. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before this one, and I thought it handled like a rowboat in a storm. I really like driving this one, handles very well, smooth comfortable ride. Gas mileage is ok for it's size. Back seats adjust and are comfortable with plenty of legroom. Plenty of cargo room.

December 17, 2014Although some little plastic clips, etc have already broken (sunvisor mirror clips) they were fixed under warranty - this car is structurally sound, and my insurance dropped tremendously when I bought it because of the Torrent's safty ratings.
June 12, 2008The cruise on the Pontiac Torrent is really bad, when you press it, it does not respond, so one tends to keep pressing it and the speed jumps up by almost 10 MPH. So be careful, because it does respond and before you know it, it has jumped up to a speed you don't want.
September 7, 2007To anyone who has a torrent and an overheating problem... Long story short, mine wasnt the radiator, water pump or thermostat (the usual culprits), or a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Do a compression test and if you find weak compression on one side, pull that valve cover off. I found a melted charred mess in a coolant channel that restricted flow. Fixed that, and hasnt run hot since
September 5, 2024We got 232,000 miles out of one of these. With some work you can too.
