Expert review
The Toyota Venza returns as a hybrid crossover geared toward budget-conscious empty nesters. It’s designed to be more upscale and fuel-efficient than the Toyota RAV4, giving buyers plenty of reasons to upgrade.
At first glance, the 2021 Toyota Venza looks more like a Lexus than a typical Toyota, which is fitting, because the Venza is anything but typical. The new Venza blends a new approach to in-car technology with fresh exterior and interior design.
Like the Nissan Murano, Honda Passport, Ford Edge, and Chevrolet Blazer, the Venza is a two-row SUV meant to be more sophisticated than the family-friendly Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Equinox, and Toyota RAV4. There is no three-row Venza option.
It also comes only with a hybrid powertrain—for better or worse—something that its competition is lacking. All-wheel drive is also standard. That's also offered by the competition, but only as a costly upgrade.
The Venza’s $32,470 starting price is slightly higher than the Murano and Blazer, but it comes with the traditionally-more-expensive hybrid powertrain. Is the hybrid worth shelling out a little more for?

Venzas are good vehicles. A little small but overall very economical and useful

November 9, 2021I love this vehicle! There are so many features, from the 12.3 inch screen to heated and ventilated seats! Its an excellent value at under $40,000! I dont think its missing anything. If you want to spend a little more, you can get a panoramic top and birds eye view cameras! Definitely a luxury vehicle! A+++++
April 8, 2021Best vehicle I ever owned. Drives amazing, full of technology and safety features.
March 27, 2021It has everything most people will ever want. It is essentially a Lexus for a Toyota price. We looked at a Toyota RAV4 and a Lexus RX350. It blends those two into one.
March 13, 2024Thanks to Car Gurus for helping me find this gem. Its a hybrid so its great on gas. It is extremely comfortable and spacious. There a host of features to love, like heated and cooled seats, in addition to memory seats.
August 6, 2023I love the safety features. Im enthusiastic and impressed by the additional luxury features (e.g., remote start, JBL audio, heated and vented seats / steering wheel, navigation system). The car is more comfortable and is a definite step up from my RAV4 - which I really enjoyed. Price seems fair for the perceived value.
February 2, 2021Car has everything a driver could want and is great to drive. It compares very favorably to luxury SUV’s but for much lower price.
December 22, 2022Everything about this unit is luxurious. Only downside is that towing is NOT recommended
