What’s New for the 2024 Audi SQ8 Sportback e-tron Sportback
On paper, the SQ8 Sportback e-tron is a rebadged version of the e-tron S Sportback, with a slightly less confusing name. It’s also the fastback version of the Audi SQ8 e-tron, the crossover SUV that sits at the top of the Audi EV lineup.
Design
As the name suggests, the SQ8 Sportback e-tron has a coupe-like design that cuts into usable cargo space, but it also gives the vehicle an attractive profile. It comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels and red brake calipers. An available Black Optics package adds black exterior trim, black mirror housings, and 22-inch wheels with a titanium finish and summer tires.
Powertrain
The SQ8 Sportback e-tron comes with a 114-kWh battery pack that routes power to a trio of electric motors, with one at the front and two at the rear axle. They make a combined 496 horsepower and 718 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 SQ8 Sportback e-tron can get from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 130 mph.
The SQ8 Sportback e-tron features DC fast charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. With a Level 2 charger, it can be fully recharged in closer to 10 hours. The range for the SQ8 Sportback e-tron is listed at 253 miles with the base 20-inch wheels.
Interior
Trims for the 2024 SQ8 are Premium Plus and Prestige. The Premium Plus trim is outfitted with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, quad-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic moonroof, heated seats in both the front and back, ventilated front seats, wireless device charging, and a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. The Prestige trim enhances this configuration by including massaging front seats and superior Valcona leather upholstery.
Underneath the power liftback is a total of 54.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down. With those seats in the upright position, cargo space falls to 27.2 cubic feet.
Technology
The SQ8 Sportback e-tron features a dual-screen setup that dominates the center console. The lower 8.6-inch touchscreen manages the climate controls and additional vehicle settings. Meanwhile, the upper 10.1-inch touchscreen controls the infotainment system, which includes features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
