What’s New for the 2024 Volvo S90
Changes are minimal for the 2024 model year. The plug-in hybrid S90 Recharge is now offered in the lower-cost Plus trim, and a new Vapour Gray color is now available.
Design
The 2024 Volvo S90 features a minimalist yet elegant design with a refined front grille and sleek headlights. Trims for the S90 are Plus and Ultimate. The Plus trim comes with 19-inch alloy wheels. Stepping up to the Ultimate adds 20-inch alloy wheels.
Powertrain
The 2024 S90's powertrain includes a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It makes 295 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
For those seeking more power, the S90 Recharge plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant offers an impressive 455 hp. Both versions come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD). An optional adaptive air suspension system enhances ride quality.
The S90 Recharge has an electric range of 38 miles and earns an EPA-rated 66 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent). The mild-hybrid returns 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. Both versions require premium fuel.

The Ultimate trim adds premium Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and power side bolsters and seat extensions for the front seats. The Ultimate also comes with a unique crystal shift knob. A Lounge Package is available for the Ultimate trim that adds massaging front seats, ventilated rear seats, and a power-folding armrest.

At the center of the S90’s dash is a 9-inch vertical touch screen with Google-based navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also comes standard with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless device charging, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Optional upgrades include a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system and a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Upgrading to the Ultimate trim adds a Harmon Kardon premium stereo system.
