The Audi S4 is the performance version of the A4, Audi’s compact executive sedan. For 2025, which is the final model year for the A4 lineup as we know it, the S4 is again offered in Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige trims. It competes with the likes of the BMW M340i, the Genesis G70, and the Mercedes-AMG C43.

What’s New for the 2025 Audi S4
The A4 model range last received a significant update for the 2020 model year. The base A4 does get some aesthetic changes for 2025, but Audi takes more of an “if it ain’t broke” approach with the S4, limiting updates to a few tech and convenience features.
Design
At first glance, the S4 looks a lot like the A4. But there are details that distinguish the performance version. It comes standard with 19-inch wheels, while the A4’s are 18 inches. It also features quad exhaust outlets and a distinct rear diffuser, and the S Sport package offered on the middle trim adds red brake calipers. The $1,000 Black Optics package blacks out the calipers, as well as other exterior trim elements like the side sills. For $1,750, you can also get a carbon fiber spoiler and mirror caps.
Powertrain
The S4 takes the A4 and makes it more: more cylinders, more gears, and more power. Its turbocharged V6 engine pumps out 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Every 2025 S4 features an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard. The automaker says that the S4 can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Its fuel economy is EPA-estimated at 20 mpg city, 29 highway, and 24 combined. The 2025 Audi S4 requires premium fuel.
For those seeking an extra performance edge, the available Sport S package upgrades the specially tuned S Sport suspension with adaptive damping and also adds a torque-vectoring rear differential.

Interior
The S4’s interior is a bit cramped compared to rivals from Mercedes and Genesis, but its design and features keep it compelling, starting with the S Sport seats covered in standard quilted leather upholstery with synthetic suede inserts. The front seats are heated, massaging, and eight-way power-adjustable in every 2025 S4, and the S4 Prestige trim adds heated rear seats. Tri-zone climate control, a sunroof, and a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel are also standard.
Technology
The Audi MMI Navigation Plus package is newly standard starting with the middle Premium Plus trim for 2025, and the Convenience package available for the base trim now includes rear USB ports. Every 2025 S4 comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital driver-information display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and in the base S4 Premium, they’ll play your tunes through a 10-speaker audio system. The Premium Plus trim switches to a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system and adds wireless phone charging.
