The Suburban nameplate is one of the longest-running brands in the automotive industry. Chevy has continued making improvements over the years, keeping the body-on-frame SUV relevant, and it remains a popular option for families and road-trippers today. General Motors has given its full-size SUVs an advantage over models from Ford and others with an available diesel engine that brings the best towing capabilities and strong fuel economy.

What’s New for the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban
Chevy heavily updated the Suburban for 2025, giving it fresh exterior styling, a more powerful diesel engine, new tech, and a revised interior with nicer materials and clever storage options.
Design
The latest Suburban design has trended closer to the Silverado's, with a unique LED daytime running light (DRL) layout, an upright front end, and sculpted sides. Chevy offers a range of wheel and exterior trim options, including new 24-inch wheel designs, blacked-out trim for some models, and beefy off-road features for the Z71 variant.
Powertrain
The base powertrain for the 2025 Suburban is a 5.3-liter gas V8 with stop-start tech. It makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. A 6.2-liter V8 is available, making 420 horsepower and 460 pounds of torque, and the range-topping engine is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six that makes 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. All engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive (RWD or 4WD). The 2025 Suburban can tow up to 8,200 pounds when properly equipped, and some models offer surprising off-road capability.

Interior
The revised Suburban has a nicer interior than previous models. It has a new center console with more storage options, a new steering wheel, updated interior trim options with piano black and chrome, and more soft-touch materials throughout. The top High Country trim adds authentic wood accents, perforated leather, and High Country badges throughout the cabin.
Technology
Chevy revised the Suburban’s tech for 2025, giving it a new standard 17.7-inch touchscreen and an 11-inch digital gauge cluster. The touchscreen is oriented toward the driver for better visibility and reach while driving, and the system brings a wealth of desirable features. The list includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, available wireless charging, and an available head-up display.
