Full-size SUVs are an American tradition, and nobody does the vehicle type better than General Motors. Chevrolet alone offers several SUVs, and at the top of the lineup sit the Suburban and the slightly smaller Tahoe. Despite their size difference, both are large SUVs with expansive passenger space, great towing capabilities, and a range of powertrain options.

What’s New for the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe
Chevy heavily updated the Tahoe for 2025, giving it fresh exterior styling, a more powerful diesel engine, new tech, and a revised interior with nicer materials and clever storage options.
Design
The new Tahoe design borrows some design elements from the Silverado pickup truck, including its front end, which is more upright and muscular-looking than before. Chevy offers several wheel sizes and designs, including new 24-inch options, and some trims get unique exterior accents. The Z71 model adds beefy off-road body protection, including skid plates, and it features red tow hooks.
Powertrain
Three powertrain options are available for the 2025 model year. The entry-level option includes a 5.3-liter V8 making 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. A 6.2-liter V8 is available that produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and Chevy also offers a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six that makes 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. The diesel’s torque makes it the ideal engine option for buyers needing to tow heavy loads. All engines come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive (RWD or 4WD).

Interior
Chevy updated the Tahoe’s interior for 2025, creating more differentiation between trim levels and upgrading the space overall. The SUV gets a new center console design with more storage and better ergonomics, a fresh steering wheel design, more soft-touch materials, and updated interior accent options that include piano black and chrome. The High Country trim’s cabin got a refresh with new wood accents, perforated leather upholstery, and unique High Country badging.
Technology
The Tahoe gained updated tech for 2025, including a new standard 17.7-inch touchscreen and 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Chevy revised the dash shape, orienting the display toward the driver for easier visibility and usability while driving. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. Wireless charging and a head-up display are available.
