The 2025 Genesis GV70 is a small luxury SUV that competes with the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Lexus NX, and Volvo XC60. This first-gen vehicle is packed with tech and luxe amenities, often at a price well below its competitors. It has two engine options and well-equipped trim packages that differ based on powertrain selection. It also offers something its competitors don’t: a fully electric powertrain option.

What’s New for the 2025 Genesis GV70
As the Genesis GV70 is gearing up for a mid-cycle refresh in 2026, it doesn’t get big changes for 2025. This vehicle is essentially a carry-over, but the one change it has is a biggie: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard. It should be noted that remote services are now standard as well.
Design
The 2025 Genesis GV70 has sleek lines and a sporty appearance, which the brand calls “Athletic Elegance.” It carries the Genesis signature Crest Grille and split headlight design, and it has a more swept-back coupe-like profile. Rather than offering a lot of package options, Genesis simplifies its builds with trim packages, each level building on the prior one, so we don’t see wheel designs or appearance packages as options. If you want a different look or additional interior color options, you just have to select a different (pricier) trim level.
Powertrain
The 2025 Genesis GV70 offers three powertrain options: a 300-horsepower, 2.5-liter, inline-four turbo; a 375-hp, 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6; and a 429-hp dual-motor electric. All powertrains are standard with all-wheel drive (AWD). The gasoline models get 28 and 24 mpg on the highway, respectively, and the Electrified GV70 gets up to 236 miles of range.

Interior
Interior design of the 2025 Genesis GV70 is both minimalist and elegant. It balances the large infotainment screen with physical buttons and dials, and the attention to detail is evident through things like elegant stitching on the steering wheel and etched metal on the dials. This small SUV seats five and includes standard features like leatherette seats, heated front seats, and wireless phone charging. A panoramic sunroof is standard starting one level up from the base, and as you continue up through the trim packages, you’ll add features like a heated steering wheel, leather seats, 360-degree camera views, ambient lighting, premium audio, a head-up display, and heated rear seats.
Technology
The 2025 Genesis GV70 now offers connected services as standard fare, and that’s a big deal since most competitors charge subscription fees for app connect features. The GV70 comes standard with a lot of high-tech features, including a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, a partially digital cluster, and fingerprint authentication. As you level up, you’ll see additional features such as ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, the ability to use your phone as a key, and remote park assist.
